Alan Rutkin of Rivkin Radler Appointed Vice Chair of TIP's Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee
Attorney Alan Rutkin, of Great Neck, a partner in the Insurance & Coverage Litigation Practice Group at Rivkin Radler LLP, has been named a Vice Chair of the American Bar Association's Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee's Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section (TIPS) for the 2007-2008 year. It brings together approximately 3,000 outside defense counsel for insurance companies, policyholder counsel, in-house and staff counsel from insurance companies.

TIPS is unique within the ABA and the legal community because of its focus on balance and diversity, bringing together plaintiffs, defense, corporate and in-house counsel to tackle insurance issues confronting the legal profession.

"The ABA (TIPS) Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee brings together some of the best insurance coverage lawyers in the country, people on the cutting edge of the field," says Rutkin. "I'm proud to be made a Vice Chair." Alan Rutkin has been counseling insurers on new and unique issues for more than twenty years, and has special expertise in insurance coverage disputes involving environmental matters and other complex claims. A frequent speaker on litigation and insurance topics, Mr. Rutkin has also written extensively on insurance coverage litigation. For more than a decade, Rutkin has authored a defense litigation column for Best's Review for which he has been recognized by the American Society of Business Press Editors, with their Editorial Excellence award.

Mr. Rutkin has served on Rivkin Radler's Executive Committee, the firm's governing body. He currently heads the firm's pro bono program, which assists the indigent in coordination with Nassau/Suffolk Law Services. Mr. Rutkin also serves as General Counsel to Action Long Island, a business-related trade association.

Mr. Rutkin was admitted to practice in the State of New York in 1984, the United States District Court for the Eastern Districts of New York in 1985, and the Southern District of New York in 1986. He is a member of the American Bar Association (Litigation and Insurance Practice sections) and the New York State Bar Association. Mr. Rutkin received his Juris Doctorate degree from Boston University School of Law in 1983 and his Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, with honors in political science and a Becker Scholarship, from Union College (Schenectady, New York) in 1980.

Richman Greer Receives Awards For Pro Bono Work From Palm Beach Legal Aid Society
Richman Greer, P.A. has been awarded the ‘Law Firm of the Year Award’ by the Pro Bono Program of the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County. The firm was recognized for assisting and tutoring lawyers of the Legal Aid Society in representing homeless and underprivileged residents in need of legal services based on the efforts of firm Shareholders Ronald P. Ponzoli, Jr. and John R. Whittles. The organization also acknowledged the efforts of Shareholder Gary Betensky, who was awarded a Bronze level commendation for his pro bono work for 2006.

The ‘Law Firm of the Year Award’ is presented to local firms which display an exceptional commitment to providing high quality civil legal advice, representation and education to the disadvantaged of Palm Beach County. This marks the 19th year the organization has issued awards in recognition of pro bono services.

Ron Ponzoli’s areas of practice include commercial litigation, complex tort litigation, contract litigation, employment litigation, construction litigation, employment and housing discrimination, legal and medical malpractice litigation, and constitutional law. John Whittles practices primarily in the areas of commercial litigation, employment law, constitutional law and election law. Gary Betensky maintains a civil trial, business litigation and appellate practice, concentrating on complex commercial litigation and business disputes.

The Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County (www.legalaidpbc.org), a non profit organization, was established in 1949 to provide equal access to the judicial system to low-income children, families and individuals living in Palm Beach County. The group provides residents with no-cost legal assistance as well as a variety of community education and outreach programs.

Wisneski were recently named among the top young lawyers in Massachusetts in the 2007 edition of Massachusetts Super Lawyers Rising Stars. Messrs. Bilodeau and Flint were recognized for their expertise in the Business/Corporate practice area, Mr. Stokes in the area of Securities and Corporate Finance and Ms. Wisneski in the area of General Litigation. 2.5% of Massachusetts attorneys have been named as Rising Stars and all are 40 or younger or have been practicing for ten or fewer years. Rising Stars were selected through a balloting process where previously selected Massachusetts Super Lawyers voted for whom they believed to have the most potential for the future.

Rich May would like to congratulate its client Hub Technologies, Inc., which provides a wide variety of industries with a complete source for high volume, complex fabrication of components and equipment. Hub Technologies has announced that it will expand its manufacturing facilities (from its current 53,000 square foot manufacturing space to a combined 133,000 square across four facilities) and expects to create 200-plus jobs.

PHILLIPS LYTLE ATTORNEY JODIE L. RYAN TO BE HONORED BY NEW YORK STATE BAR ASSOCIATION
Jodie L. Ryan, an attorney with Phillips Lytle LLP, one of the region’s largest full service law firms, will be honored by the New York State Bar Association at its April 30th awards luncheon at the State Bar Center in Albany. She is the recipient of the NYSBA President’s Pro Bono Service Award for the 7th Judicial District. This award is bestowed on attorneys and law students who have rendered extraordinary pro bono service.

At Phillips Lytle, Ms. Ryan focuses her practice on personal injury and commercial litigation. She received her J.D. from Albany Law School of Union University and a B.A., cum laude, from University at Buffalo. In addition, Ms. Ryan is a member of the American, New York and Monroe County Bar Associations and Greater Rochester Association of Women Attorneys.

PHILLIPS LYTLE LLP ATTORNEY CRAIG R. BUCKI ELECTED SECRETARY OF KOSCIUSZKO FOUNDATION OF WNY
Craig R. Bucki, an attorney with Phillips Lytle LLP, a full service law firm with statewide coverage, has been elected secretary of the Western New York Chapter of the Kosciuszko Foundation. The Western New York Chapter is one of eight regional divisions, which work to support the goals of the Foundation. The Kosciuszko Foundation is a national organization dedicated to promoting educational and cultural exchanges between the United States and Poland, and to an increase in American understanding of Polish culture and history.

At Phillips Lytle, Mr. Bucki focuses his practice in general civil litigation and trial matters.
