NIKKI L. VELISARIS JOINS ROTHMAN GORDON
Nikki L. Velisaris has joined Rothman Gordon, P.C., a downtown Pittsburgh law firm, as an associate. Ms. Velisaris will be working with a variety of practice areas, including corporate & business; real estate; and labor & employment.

Ms. Velisaris received a B.S. in Finance and a B.A. in Journalism from Penn State University in 2002. She went on to earn an MBA from Duquesne University's John F. Donahue Graduate School of Business Administration in 2006 and her J.D. from the Duquesne University School of Law in 2007. Ms. Velisaris had been a law clerk for the firm since 2005.

Ms. Velisaris resides in Whitehall and is very active with St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral, where she coaches girls' basketball.

Rich May Client, Trident Capital, invests in DepotPoint, Inc.
DepotPoint, Inc. announced that it has secured $4 million in a Series B investment. The investment was completed with Palo Alto-based venture capital and private equity firm Trident Capital, which specializes in investments in software and technology enabled business services.

DepotPoint is a rapidly emerging provider of Web-based solutions for increasing efficiencies in the growing foreclosure market. The company will employ the funds to continue to enhance and expand the reach of its existing solutions: TrackPoint Application Suite and ForeClosurePoint.com.

Rich May, a Professional Corporation, a Boston business law firm, represented Trident Capital, a national venture capital and private equity firm focused on investments in business services, information services and software sectors. Stephen M. Kane and Robert P. Tedesco led the Rich May team on this engagement.

PHILLIPS LYTLE LLP SPECIAL COUNSEL DAVID L. EDMUNDS, JR. APPOINTED TO INDEPENDENT JUDICIAL ELECTION QUALIFICATION COMMISSION
David L. Edmunds, Jr., Special Counsel with Phillips Lytle LLP, a full service law firm with statewide coverage, has been appointed to serve a two-year term as a member of the Independent Judicial Election Qualification Commission for the Eighth Judicial District.

Last year, in response to a recommendation of the Commission to Promote Public Confidence in Judicial Elections, the New York Court of Appeals established a screening process throughout the State to review the qualifications of candidates for elective judicial office. Beginning in 2007, each fifteen-member Commission will evaluate the candidates within its district to determine whether they are qualified, based on a set of criteria, for the judicial office to which they seek election. The goal of the Qualification Commission is to provide the public with greater confidence in the judicial election process.

At Phillips Lytle, Mr. Edmunds focuses his practice in the areas of ethics and professional responsibility and civil litigation defense. A member of the New York State, Erie County and Minority Bar Associations, he holds a J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and a B.A. from University of Rochester. Mr. Edmunds previously served as Chief Counsel to the Attorney Grievance Committee of the Fourth Judicial Department.

PHILLIPS LYTLE LLP PARTNER FREDERICK G. ATTEA AMONG 2007 UB LAW SCHOOL DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI AWARD RECIPIENTS
Frederick G. Attea, a Partner with Phillips Lytle LLP, a full service law firm with statewide coverage, has been selected as a recipient of a 2007 Distinguished Alumni Award from University at Buffalo Law School. Mr. Attea will be honored as a non-alumnus for his outstanding service to the university, to the legal profession and to the community at the UB Law Alumni Association 45th Annual Meeting and Dinner to be held May 3, 2007 at 5:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Buffalo.

At Phillips Lytle, Mr. Attea is engaged in securities and corporate practice with emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and securities law compliance. Listed in The Best Lawyers in America®, he holds a J.D., with honors, from Fordham University School of Law and a B.S., magna cum laude, from Canisius College. Mr. Attea is a member of the American, New York and Erie County Bar Associations and serves as founding member of the University at Buffalo Law School Dean’s Advisory Council. In addition, he serves on the boards of directors for Calspan-University at Buffalo Research Center, Kavinoky Theatre and the World Trade Center Buffalo Niagara.

LOCKE LIDDELL & SAPP EXPANDS INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY PRACTICE WITH HIRING OF TWO LATERAL ATTORNEYS IN HOUSTON
Mark Gatschet and Daniel Nguyen have joined Locke Liddell & Sapp’s Houston office as Counsel in the Intellectual Property Section. Both have moved their IP practices from the Houston office of Jenkens & Gilchrist.

Gatschet has a PhD with an emphasis in molecular biology and Nguyen is an Electrical Engineer. These areas of technical expertise, when combined with their law degrees, help them better understand the needs of their clients. Gatschet and Nguyen will add to the depth and breadth of Locke Liddell’s already strong IP practice group. At the end of 2006, IP Law & Business magazine named Locke Liddell & Sapp among the Top 10 law firms in the country for intellectual property work. In its annual survey “of the firms Corporate America calls on for IP help,” Locke Liddell was listed as one of the top 10 “go-to firms” that general counsel at the Fortune 250 turn to for their primary IP litigation and patent work.

Gatschet focuses his IP practice on biotechnology and financial services sectors. Areas of emphasis include patent clearance and validity analyses for major pharmaceutical companies, as well as IP due diligence assessments in the context of major investments or mergers and acquisitions. Gatschet is a graduate of the University of Texas Law School, and he received a PhD degree from Oklahoma State University, a MS degree from Kansas State University, and a Bachelor’s degree from St. Louis University.

Nguyen focuses his IP practice on patents, trademarks and licensing. A Licensed Professional Engineer, he has worked with clients on preparing and prosecuting numerous U.S. and international patent applications for innovations in the software, electronics, telecommunication, information technology, oilfield services, financial services, and gaming industries. He is a graduate of the University of Houston Law Center and has an undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University.

LOCKE LIDDELL & SAPP AUSTIN OFFICE HONORED FOR PRO BONO WORK
At its annual Law Day luncheon today in Austin, the Volunteer Legal Services of Central Texas awarded Locke Liddell & Sapp the Joseph H. Hart Award in recognition of the law firm’s exemplary pro bono work and financial support for pro bono program. The award is bestowed annually upon a law firm that has demonstrated integrity and dedication by providing legal services to the poor.

“We are proud of the attorneys and staff in Austin for receiving this award, and feel very strongly that our Firm has a professional and ethical responsibility to provide the highest quality legal services possible for those who cannot afford it themselves,” said Managing Partner Jerry Clements.

Locke Liddell has long been an active community partner in Austin, and through its attorneys firm wide has provided pro bono legal service in many areas including, but not limited to, family law, residential landlord/tenant law, consumer fraud, bankruptcy, wills and estates, real estate, civil rights, human rights and federal criminal cases. The Firm’s commitment includes the volunteer efforts of its individual attorneys as well as significant financial support on an individual attorney and firm-wide basis.

Locke Liddell attorneys in Austin have been a mainstay in staffing Volunteer Legal Services’ family law clinic for more than a decade. Additionally, the Firm’s Austin attorneys have participated in a unique pro bono program, representing the State on appeals of parental termination cases. ChannelAdvisor Secures $30 Million in Funding
ChannelAdvisor, the leading provider of e-commerce channel management solutions, today announced it has received an additional $30 million in funding to fuel the company’s aggressive expansion in the e-commerce channel management industry. The funding round was led by New Enterprise Associates (NEA) with participation from current ChannelAdvisor investors Kodiak Venture Partners, Advanced Technology Ventures, Southern Capitol Ventures and eBay.

ChannelAdvisor will leverage the additional capital to continue its growth into e-commerce channels such as paid search and comparison shopping engines. Additionally the company plans to expand its offerings into new geographies and investigate acquisition opportunities. Additionally, Patrick Kerins, NEA General Partner, will join ChannelAdvisor’s board of directors.

“We’ve been following ChannelAdvisor for a long time and we’ve increasingly been impressed by their superior technology, significant traction in the retail sector, and uniqueness of their ChannelAdvisor Complete™ product offering,” says Patrick Kerins, General Partner of NEA.

“This funding will enable us to build upon our industry-leading e-commerce channel management solutions and expand our expertise into new channels both in the US and internationally,” says Scot Wingo, Chief Executive Officer of ChannelAdvisor. “ChannelAdvisor saw rapid growth in 2006 and we are excited to continue to focus on bringing the best products and services to help retailers sell more profitability online.”

The company also announced that Bill Brown has joined the company as Chief Financial Officer to manage all of the company’s financial activities.

Bill, a 25-year financial and accounting veteran has served as Chief Financial Officer at several Massachusetts-based Software-as-a-service (SaaS) on-demand companies, including Lightbridge, a Burlington, MA company Bill helped take public in 1996. Bill received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the School of Management at Boston University.
