Kevin Clark and Lana Alcorn Appointed to Leadership Positions for the 2008 DRI Toxic Torts and Environmental Seminar
Two Lightfoot Franklin & White attorneys have been appointed to leadership positions for the 2008 DRI Toxic Torts and Environmental Law Seminar. Kevin Clark has been appointed as Program Vice Chair, and Lana Alcorn appointed to the Planning Committee. The seminar will take place from February 28, 2008 through February 29, 2008 at the Ritz-Carlton in New Orleans, Louisiana. Faculty will come together to provide ground-breaking legal, forensic and scientific issues involved in toxic tort litigation and environmental law. As Program Vice Chair and Planning Committee member, Kevin and Lana, respectively, will be responsible for developing cutting-edge program topics presented by renowned speakers.

Jack Sharman Serves as Sedona Conference Panelist
Jack Sharman served as a panelist at the 2007 Mid-Year Meeting of the Sedona Conference's Working Group on Electronic Discovery. The Sedona Conference is the nation's leading collection of experts on electronic discovery and has published leading texts in the field, including the frequently-cited Sedona Principles.

The topic of the invitation-only meeting was "Electronic Document Retention and Production." Jack served as a panelist on "Protecting the Attorney-Client Privilege in the Production of ESI.

Robert D. Hudson named Chair-elect of Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce
Greenebaum Doll & McDonald PLLC announced today that Robert D. Hudson, a Member in the firm’s Covington office, has been named Chair-elect of the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.
The Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce is a private voluntary, not-for-profit organization of business and professional people dedicated to improving the economic environment of Northern Kentucky. The Chamber represents 6,800 business individuals from more than 2,000 member firms.

A member in the Firm's Labor and Employment Practice Group, Hudson represents management in all phases of labor relations. His practice includes various aspects of labor and employment consulting for management, equal employment opportunity, legal compliance training, union avoidance, collective bargaining, labor arbitration, and employment litigation. Hudson practices regionally before various administrative agencies and courts.

In addition to his other civic involvement, Hudson is Chair of the Covington Business Council, he is on the board of Ken-Tron Manufacturing and is past-President of the Northern Kentucky Human Resource Association. He has served on the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce board since 2000 and is a graduate of Leadership Northern Kentucky. Hudson received his undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of Kentucky and law degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law.

Brookhaven Roe YMCA Charity Golf Classic Will Honor David Sloane
At the Bellport Country Club, the Brookhaven Roe YMCA Annual Charity Golf Classic will honor David Sloane, Esq., a Real Estate Partner at Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman, LLP.

Mr. Sloane represents many major developers, national home builders and national retailers in the areas of commercial real estate, zoning and land-use. Additionally, he lectures on issues relating to his areas of expertise. He is a former Special Town Attorney to the Town of Brookhaven, a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association, the Real Estate Law Committee, Environmental Law Committee and Municipal Law Committee of the New York State Bar Association, and an active member of the Long Island Builders Institute. He also serves on the advisory board of Chicago Title Insurance Company.

A life-long resident of Patchogue, David has been active in community and professional affairs his entire life. He has served as Past President of the Patchogue Lions Club, a former member of the Brookhaven Memorial Hospital board of Directors, a member of the Board of Directors of the local YMCA, and has made substantial contributions to many other civic endeavors.

Willman & Arnold Wins Verdict Against Delinquent in Collection Case
Attorney Ronald J. Richert obtained a verdict on behalf of Altec Industries, Inc., against Fred’s Tree and Lawn Service, Inc., following a non-jury trial before the Honorable Beth Lazzara of the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County. Altec filed a Complaint in Civil Action against Fred’s Tree & Lawn Service to recover the remaining $16,000 which Fred’s owed Altec for the purchase of two chip box trucks. Although Fred’s claimed that the trucks were nonconforming, this claim was invalidated through cross-examination at the time of trial, and Judge Lazzara awarded Altec the full amount it was due under the contract – $16,000.
