Tribute Concert in Honor of Alexander E. Drapos
Tribute Concert in Honor of Alexander E. Drapos Alexander E. Drapos, a lifelong resident of Worcester, passed away peacefully of cancer in July 2006. Mr. Drapos was a friend to many, a great humanitarian and a gracious, generous soul who always gave back to the community he loved. With a strong passion for the arts, music and travel, Alex loved to share these joys with his friends and family. He will long be remembered for his wit, love of life and his care and concern for others. It is in this spirit that a tribute concert to honor his life is now being held. Alex was a strong supporter of many humanitarian efforts, but one of his dearest organizations was the American Farm School, where he was a Trustee since 1995 and served as Chairman of the Board from 2000 until 2005. In memory of his parents, Alex established a memorial fund and frequently made contributions in the memory of friends and relatives. Alex's name will now be added to the Drapos Memorial Fund at the Farm School, for which all proceeds from this evening will benefit. Internationally known Irish tenor, Ronan Tynan, will perform a special tribute concert to raise funds for the Drapos Memorial Fund in Alex Drapos' name. The concert is being held on Monday, May 7th 2007 at 8pm at Worcester's Historic Mechanics Hall. A private pre-concert reception is being held at 6pm, followed by a tribute at 7:45pm and concert at 8pm. Tickets for the concert and reception are $150 per person and $50 for the concert only. Pre-registration is urged since space is limited.
