Paul Hastings’ London Office Relocates To New Premises in the Heart of the City of London
Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP ("Paul Hastings"), a leading international law firm, is moving its London office to Bishops Square, a new development in the heart of the City of London. The new address is 10 Bishops Square, Eighth Floor London E1 6EG.

The new premises will provide Paul Hastings’ London office with sufficient space to significantly increase its staffing levels from the current 40 lawyers, as the firm continues to expand its activities in London and throughout Europe.

Mark Eagan, chair of the London office said: “The continued growth of Paul Hastings London office is a top priority of the Firm. The move to a larger space is direct reflection of our efforts. The London office has grown tremendously both in terms of size and revenue over the last few years and this new space will accommodate our current and future expansion.”

Wyrick Robbins acted as company counsel to Globus Medical, Inc. in connection with its $110 million Series E Preferred Stock financing. According to Private Equity HUB, a Thomson Financial news source, this financing is the largest venture capital transaction of 2007 to date in the United States.

Globus Medical is a spinal implant manufacturer with a full portfolio of spinal fusion products, burgeoning initiatives in biomaterials development and minimally invasive approaches, and is among the world leaders in the development of motion sparing technology. Wiggin and Dana Wins Key Ruling Before Connecticut Supreme Court Unanimous Decision Adopts Qualified Privilege for Employee References
In a case of first impression, the Connecticut Supreme Court today recognized a qualified privilege for employer references. Where an employee consents to a reference check and later sues the employer for defamation based on the employer's provision of the reference information, the employer cannot be held liable unless it made the statements with malice or improper motive. Wiggin and Dana LLP represented the employer, the University of New Haven, in this case.

Cheryl Korman of Rivkin Radler Named Among Long Island'sWho's Who in Women in Professional Services
Cheryl Korman, of Melville, a Partner in Rivkin Radler's Litigation & Appeals Practice Group, has been named among Long Island's Who's Who in Women in Professional Services by Long Island Business News.

Ms. Korman handles all aspects of appellate litigation, in addition to general civil litigation. She has successfully handled complex appeals in the New York State Court of Appeals, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and in each of the Appellate Divisions throughout the state. She has obtained significant appellate victories for Rivkin Radler's clients in the areas of insurance, real estate, banking, breach of contract, municipal law, products liability, premises liability and other business-related disputes.

In 2007, Cheryl Korman was named among Long Island Business News' 50 Most Influential Women in Business. She was also inducted into Long Island Business News' 40 Rising Stars Under 40, Class of 2004. Ms. Korman has authored articles for the New York Law Journal and Insurance Advocate, and has lectured at both continuing legal education seminars and at client in-house seminars on a variety of topics.

Cheryl Korman is an active participant in Rivkin Radler's Women Attorneys Marketing Group and serves as a mentor to the firm's newer associates. She is actively involved as a volunteer and supporter for the Nassau Chapter of the American Heart Association and has been named Chair of the organization's 7th Annual "Have a Heart" benefit luncheon in 2008. The annual luncheon is held to raise money and awareness of issues relating to women and heart disease.

Ms. Korman graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the State University of New York at Albany. She received her Juris Doctorate from St. John's University School of Law. Prior to joining Rivkin Radler, Ms. Korman was a senior court attorney for the New York State Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department and acting law secretary for the Honorable David Ritter. Ms. Korman was admitted to practice before the New York State Bar and New Jersey Bar in 1991. She is also admitted to the United Stated District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.
