Bryan Cave LLP Scores 100% on National GLBT Equality Survey
A new report finds unprecedented growth in U.S. employer policies for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender workers. And for the first time, Bryan Cave LLP earned a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index.

The survey, released Sept. 17, rated employers on a scale from 0 to 100 percent on their treatment of GLBT employees. Bryan Cave was one of 195 businesses nationwide to meet all of the criteria and score 100 percent.

"We are proud to be ranked a top company on the Corporate Equality Index," said St. Louis office Managing Partner Peter Van Cleve. "Bryan Cave supports fairness and equality and our policies reflect that commitment to those core values."

The sixth annual Corporate Equality Index, which rated 519 businesses, measured the extent to which employers protect their GLBT employees. Ratings are based on factors such as non-discrimination policies, diversity training and benefits for domestic partners and transgender employees. Anheuser-Busch was the only other Missouri employer to score a perfect 100 percent.

"More businesses than ever before have recognized the value of a diverse and dedicated workforce," said Human Rights Campaign President Joe Solmonese. "More importantly, these employers understand that discrimination against GLBT workers will ultimately hurt their ability to compete in the global marketplace."

The Human Rights Campaign is America’s largest civil rights organization working to achieve gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender equality. The full report can be downloaded from HRC’s Web site at www.hrc.org/cei.
