Firm Donates Office Equipment to Indiana Business Diversity Council
As part of Ice Miller’s commitment to the community it serves, the Firm announced today they are donating office furniture to the Indiana Business Diversity Council’s (IBDC) business center. The space is designed to serve as a new business incubator for start-up companies in need of a venue for networking events, training sessions or general office meetings.

“The generous donation by Ice Miller will allow us to better serve our constituents,” stated Reggie Henderson, president, IBDC. “We anticipate many minority business enterprises will benefit from the use of the office equipment.”

Ice Miller donated six sets of gently used business desks and credenzas as well as 12 bookcases, 12 guest chairs and filing cabinets. The business center is located in the new headquarters of the IBDC at 2126 North Meridian.

“We take our commitment to being a good corporate citizen very seriously,” stated Kay Fleming, partner, Ice Miller and member of the Board of Directors of IBDC. “We look forward to a continued business relationship with the IBDC and its members.”

Holland & Knight Represents Paxson Communications Corporation in $1.13 Billion Refinancing
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Holland & Knight LLP represented Paxson Communications Corporation (AMEX:PAX) in its recently completed $1.13 billion debt refinancing.

Paxson Communications Corporation owns and operates the nation’s largest broadcast television station group. The company’s programming reaches approximately 91 million U.S. television households via nationwide broadcast television, cable and satellite distribution systems.

Paxson refinanced all of its outstanding debt through a Rule 144A offering of $400 million of floating rate first priority senior secured notes due 2012 and $405 million of floating rate second priority senior secured notes due 2013, and a $325 million first priority term loan agreement. Proceeds were used to purchase all of the company’s existing secured and senior subordinated notes pursuant to a tender offer and consent solicitation that Paxson made for these notes.

The deal team at Holland & Knight was led by West Palm Beach partner David L. Perry, who was supported by partners Charles Naftalin and Douglas Darbut and associates Rebecca DiStefano, Asnardo Garro, Irma Salgado, and Jeffrey Rubinger.

“We are very pleased to have achieved this successful outcome for our client,” said Perry. “This was a complex transaction that was completed within an accelerated time frame. Three Holland & Hart Partners Named Leading Labor & Employment Lawyers
DENVER (January 16, 2006) - Holland & Hart LLP is pleased to announce that Judith A. Biggs, John M. Husband, and Jeffrey T. Johnson were named leading management labor and employment attorneys in Colorado by Who's Who Legal USA for 2006.

Ms. Biggs is the administrative partner of the firm's Boulder office. She served as chair of the employment practice group from 1998 through 2003. Former Tax Consultant Joins HUP&K Corporate Group
Mark Flanigan has joined the Corporate & Tax Group at Hodes, Ulman, Pessin & Katz, P.A. (HUP&K), Maryland’s 7th largest law firm.
Prior to joining HUP&K, Mr. Flanigan was a C.P.A. and tax consultant for Ellin & Tucker, Chartered, one of the Mid-Atlantic region’s foremost business consulting and accounting firms.
He has extensive experience counseling clients in tax and corporate matters – having represented clients in IRS and state examinations and worked on tax planning due diligence for business transactions.
Mr. Flanigan received his J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law. Status of Global Crossing Securities Fraud Class Action
This case is pending in the federal court for the Southern District of New York. Grant & Eisenhofer is lead counsel for the plaintiff class. On January 28, 2003, the Consolidated Class Action Complaint was filed. The Complaint asserts federal securities claims on behalf of all purchasers of Global Crossing securities between February 1, 1999 and January 28, 2002 against various defendants, including current and former officers and directors of Global Crossing, Arthur Andersen, Salomon Smith Barney and other financial institutions. The motions to dismiss filed by certain defendants have been fully briefed. By Order dated December 18, 2003, the Court denied in part the motions to dismiss filed by certain underwriters. By Order dated March 23, 2004, the Court denied in part the motions to dismiss filed by Arthur Andersen.

On August 11, 2003, an Amended Consolidated Class Action Complaint was filed for the purpose of asserting federal securities claims on behalf of all purchasers of Asia Global Crossing securities between October 6, 2000 and November 17, 2002 against various defendants, including current and former officers and directors of Asia Global Crossing, Arthur Andersen, Salomon Smith Barney and other financial institutions.

On November 10, 2004, the Court approved a settlement with the Global Crossing-related defendants, including Gary Winnick, and Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, Global Crossing's former outside counsel. The value of the settlement is approximately $245 million (subject to fluctuations in the US dollar/UK pounds exchange rate). On July 8, 2005, the Court approved a $75 million settlement between the plaintiffs and Citigroup-related defendants (Salomon Smith Barney and Jack Grubman) was announced. Information concerning the settlement and the Proof of Claim form are available at www.globalcrossinglitigation.com.

On October 27, 2005, the Court approved a settlement with Arthur Andersen LLP and all Andersen-related defendants. The settlement is for $25 million cash and brings the total of partial settlements in this case to $345 million. The case is still proceeding against other defendants including Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, CIBC and others.
