Firm Kicks Off its 60th Anniversary - Celebrating Together
Graves Dougherty celebrates sixty years of service in 2006. The firm was founded October 1, 1946, and has continued to enjoy significant growth and change over the sixty years since then. The theme of 2006, Celebrating Together, was chosen to highlight the comradery at Graves Dougherty and the connectedness with Central Texas that are an important part of why the firm has reached this milestone. The firm plans to celebrate 60 in '06 together with each other and the community.

As a special commemoration of this anniversary, the firm has made a Commitment to Community. Each month Graves Dougherty will support a different charity organization through volunteer efforts and by highlighting the organization in the local news journal. This is a small gesture of giving something back for the sixty years of support the community has shown the firm.

In January, a group of volunteers will work with Meals on Wheels and More to do yard work for those who are not physically able. The firm also has a group of 10 employees who have been part of the noon-time meal delivery program for several years. Each Thursday, two people deliver an average of 12 hot, nutritious lunchtime meals to the homes of people who can no longer prepare balanced meals for themselves. Meals on Wheels and More cooks for more than 1,800 people a day and serves hundreds of others through its support service programs including Medi Wheels, Handy Wheels, Country Wheels, Meals for Kids, Groceries to Go, Care Calls and H.O.P.E. These “and More” programs are designed to keep people healthy, independent and in their homes.
