Rendigs, Fry, Kiely & Dennis, L.L.P. announced the election of two new partners: Christopher J. Aluotto and Christopher R. Carville.

Christopher J. Aluotto will head up the Rendigs, Fry, Kiely & Dennis, L.L.P. public and government contracting practice group. Christopher also practices in commercial litigation, environmental law, business services, litigation, and real estate. Christopher is a member of the Cincinnati and Kentucky Bar Associations, Ohio Association of Civil Trial Attorneys, Defense Research Institute, and the National Contract Management Association.

Christopher R. Carville will focus on the representation of architects and engineers in the area of construction litigation. Christopher also practices in the area of commercial litigation, mold claims, mold litigation, professional liability, and real estate. Christopher is a member of the Cincinnati, Ohio State, and American Bar Associations, Ohio Association of Civil Trial Attorneys, and the Defense Research Institute.

Preston Gates & Ellis Adds to Thriving Intellectual Property Practice
New Partners Douglas Greenswag and Gregory Wesner Join January 1, 2006



SEATTLE — Preston Gates & Ellis LLP has long been known for its world-class intellectual property law practice. Today, the firm announced that Douglas Greenswag and Gregory Wesner have joined the firm as partners to further strengthen its highly successful IP litigation practice.

The addition of Wesner and Greenswag closely follows other recent significant additions to the patent litigation area of the firm’s IP practice. Todd B. Reinstein of Pepper Hamilton Quoted in BNA, Inc.'s Daily Tax Report
Todd B. Reinstein was quoted in today’s Daily Tax Report, published by BNA Inc. The article, “Domestic Manufacturing Deduction Raising Big Issues for Taxpayers, Government,” focused on the new domestic manufacturing deduction enacted by Congress in 2004. The following is an excerpt from the article:



“A number of companies are releasing earnings from 2005. There is tremendous pressure to take the benefit on financial statements,” Todd Reinstein, a practitioner with Pepper Hamilton LLP, Washington, D.C. told BNA in a Dec. 19 interview.

“They want to make sure they’re making the right calculations,” he said. Reinstein noted that even now, at 3 percent of income from good manufactured in whole or in substantial part in the Unites States, the deduction is a “material item” for many companies.

100% Attorney Pro Bono Participation in 2005
In 2005 – for the second consecutive year – 100% of the firm's attorneys participated in pro bono projects. The firm undertook a number of new initiatives in 2005, including participation in the Guardianship Project of the Vera Institute of Justice, a legal/medical partnership with Metropolitan Hospital through Volunteers of Legal Services, Inc., and the filing of an amicus curiae brief in the U.S. Supreme Court in a case involving the President’s authority to try Guantanamo Bay detainees before military commissions.
