Gold-Bikin, chair of the Family Law Practice Group at Wolf, Block, Schorr and Solis-Cohen LLP, recently served as a keynote speaker for Professional Business Network’s (PBN) January program on “Don’t Take No for an Answer... Negotiating From a Point of Strength in Business and Personal Dealings.”

Gold-Bikin provided attendees with advice on positioning themselves strategically during tough negotiations, improving physical presence and clearly outlining expectations and demands.

PBN is an association dedicated to networking and enhancing member businesses in the Philadelphia area. Ranked among the top 10 divorce lawyers in the United States by Worth magazine – the only woman and the only Pennsylvanian listed – Gold-Bikin has been practicing family law for three decades.

Committed to serving her profession, Gold-Bikin chaired the American Bar Association’s Section of Family Law. During her tenure, she spearheaded the creation of PARTNERS, a relationship education program offered to high schools nationwide. Incorporating five bi-weekly videotapes and a curriculum guide facilitated by a high school faculty member and volunteer attorney, the program aims to teach high school students relationship skills necessary for life-long commitments. PARTNERS was featured on the cover of Time and in Hillary Rodham Clinton’s book It Takes a Village.

Also founder and former chair of the ABA Family Law Section’s Domestic Violence Committee, Gold-Bikin served as the ABA’s representative to Russia to address domestic violence issues and its delegate to the Fourth Annual United Nation’s Conference on Women in Beijing. She currently chairs the Family Law Committee of the ABA Section of International Law.

In addition to lecturing and writing extensively on family law issues, including co-authoring The Divorce Trial Manual – From Initial Interview to Closing Argument (American Bar Association, 2003), Gold-Bikin has received numerous honors. Named one of the 50 most influential women in Philadelphia and one of the top three family law attorneys by Philadelphia Magazine, she was also honored as a 1998 Woman of Distinction by the Philadelphia Business Journal. The Montgomery County March of Dimes also recognized Gold-Bikin for her work in the business community.

A resident of King of Prussia, Pa., Gold-Bikin earned her undergraduate degree (B.A. summa cum laude, 1973) from Albright College, from which she also received an honorary degree (LL.M., 1996), and her law degree (J.D., 1976) from Villanova University School of Law.
