Partner Allison Alcasabas Transfers to London Office
NEW YORK – January 23, 2006 – The international law firm of Chadbourne & Parke LLP announced today that Allison Alcasabas, a partner in the Firm’s litigation department, has recently relocated from Chadbourne’s New York office to its affiliated multinational partnership, Chadbourne & Parke MNP, in London.

In this capacity, she will manage a substantial and growing products liability practice in Europe. Ms. Alcasabas has assisted in the defense of complex products liability cases around the world.

"This move augments our products liability capabilities and was taken to meet the growing needs of our litigation clients," said Thomas Bezanson, head of Chadbourne’s Products Liability practice. "Allison has substantial products liability experience, and her relocation to London supports our strong commitment to bolstering our litigation practice in London and Europe to meet the growing needs of our clients."

Ms. Alcasabas has over 13 years’ experience defending manufacturers in various industries, including tobacco, aviation, and automobiles. Most recently, she has represented a major tobacco company in the preparation for and defense of product liability litigation throughout Europe. She also has represented manufacturers in litigation in the United States, including the defense of several product liability trials in New York and in other jurisdictions around the country. Additionally, Ms. Alcasabas has assisted in product liability litigation against manufacturers in South Africa, Australia and Canada

In addition to her Chadbourne work, Ms. Alcasabas actively participates in the product liability activities of various legal organizations, including the ABA and the Defense Research Institute (DRI). She also is a member of the DRI’s Commercial Litigation section’s steering committee, serving as the committee’s European/international representative.

Ms. Alcasabas graduated from Bucknell University, B.A., cum laude, 1989, and Cornell Law School, J.D., 1992. At Cornell, she was on the Cornell Law Review (Editor, 1991-1992; Staff Member, 1990-1991). She joined Chadbourne in 1998 and was made partner in 2004.

Chadbourne’s products liability practice has long represented companies in a wide range of actions, including lawsuits involving manufacturers of tobacco products, alcoholic beverages, cosmetics, and over-the-counter and prescription pharmaceuticals. Much of Chadbourne’s experience has involved acting as international or national counsel in large-scale products liability litigation. In addition, the Firm has advised regional, national and international manufacturers, distributors, and other businesses outside the litigation setting.

National Law Journal Ranked Carlton Fields As One of the Top 250 Law Firms in the Country
Tampa - Carlton Fields is ranked among the top 250 law firms in the nation in the November 2005 issue of The National Law Journal magazine.

The leading legal magazine conducts an annual survey of the nation's largest law firms. Results from the survey measure the growth at the nation's largest law firms from October 1, 2004 through September 30, 2005. Carlton Fields improved its ranking on the list to #179.

Carlton Fields Shareholder, Kathleen S. McLeroy, Speaker and Panelist at the National Legal Aid and Defender Association 2005 Annual Conference
Tampa - Carlton Fields Tampa Shareholder Kathleen S. McLeroy was a speaker and panelist at the National Legal Aid and Defender Association 2005 Annual Conference. The seminar was held on November 18, 2005 and the title of McLeroy's presentation was "Disaster Relief and Business Law Pro Bono: Business Lawyers Play Critical Roles in Helping Small Businesses and Community-Based Organizations Recover from Hurricanes and Other Disasters".

McLeroy practices in the Bankruptcy & Creditors' Rights practice group. She represents creditors in disputes with debtors in all forums, including state court, federal court, and bankruptcy court, as well as in arbitration proceedings. She has significant trial experience, as well as extensive experience in arbitration, alternative dispute resolution, and mediation.

McLeroy is also active in professional organizations such as The Florida Bar where she serves on the Standing Committee on Professionalism and previously served as Vice Chair of the Continuing Legal Education Committee, as a member of the Business Law Section, and as Chair of Grievance Committee 13A; the American Bar Association, where she serves as an active member of the Business Law Section; the Hillsborough County Bar Association, where she served as the Chair of the Corporate Banking and Business Law Section and on the Steering Committee of the Law Week Committee, and the Tampa Bay Bankruptcy Bar Association where she served as an officer and a member of its Board of Directors.

McLeroy graduated, magna cum laude, from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance in 1982. In 1986, she graduated summa cum laude with an M.B.A. degree from Louisiana State University. She received her law degree, cum laude, in 1990 from Washington & Lee University.

West Palm Beach - Carlton Fields West Palm Beach shareholder, Christopher C. Copeland, will speak at the upcoming seminar "Preventing Employment Discrimination, Harassment and FLSA Claims" on February 24, 2006, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel West Palm Beach, 1601 Belvedere Road, West Palm Beach, Florida, on behalf of the National Business Institute. This seminar is approved by The Florida Bar for a maximum of 7.0 general hours of CLER credit.

Copeland is experienced in litigation of employment and labor related matters on behalf of healthcare related facilities in state and federal courts. He also practices general commercial litigation and landlord tenant litigation on behalf of a wide variety of clients.

Copeland's primary area of practice includes the representation of hospitals and healthcare related facilities in all types of labor and employment matters and disputes, including all forms of state and federal discrimination suits, whistleblower claims, retaliation claims, wage and hour claims, ERISA disputes, and claims unique to the healthcare field itself. Copeland is an active member of the firm's Labor & Employment and Healthcare Practice Groups.

Copeland received his B.A. from the University of Florida in 1987 and his J.D. from the University of Florida College of Law in 1991. Copeland is an AV-rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell.

Carlton Fields Attorney, Adam J. Steinberg, Becomes a Certified Florida Arbitrator
Miami - Carlton Fields Miami attorney, Adam J. Steinberg, has completed the requirements for the Florida Rules for Court-Appointed Arbitrators. Steinberg has become a Certified Florida Arbitrator.

Steinberg is a member of the Firm's Products and Toxic Tort Liability Practice Group. His practice areas include sports and entertainment law, products liability, general liability, professional malpractice, construction litigation, insurance coverage, and commercial litigation. He represents a number of National Football League (NFL) players and Certified National Football League Players Association contract advisors. He received his Bachelor's degree in Biology in1996 from Washington University, and obtained his law degree, cum laude, from University of Miami School of Law in 2000.

Buchanan Ingersoll Presents Information Security Law Seminar
Philadelphia, PA, January 23, 2006 — The Philadelphia office of Buchanan Ingersoll PC sponsored a seminar for the Delaware Valley Corporate Counsel Association on Thursday, January 19, 2006.

The seminar, titled "Guarding the Crown Jewels: Information Security, Trade Secrets and IP Portfolios," discussed key concepts and recent developments in information security law. It highlighted how to implement protection for intellectual property and trade secrets; the proactive mitigation of digital business threats; intellectual property litigation; protecting intellectual property assets; and the valuation of intellectual property.

Bryan Cave Ranks 24th in Lead Agent Representations and 18th in Borrower Representations in Syndicated Loan Transactions
Gold Sheets, a trade publication of Loan Pricing Corporation, recently released its 2005 final legal league tables. Bryan Cave ranked 24th among law firms representing the lead arranger in syndicated loan transactions (up from 25th as of the end of the 3rd quarter) and 18th among law firms representing the borrower in syndicated loan transactions. Bryan Cave had not previously been ranked for borrower representations.

For 2005, the Firm represented the lead arranger in 24 closed transactions with a value in excess of $4.4 billion. These transactions included credit facilities agented by US Bank, N.A. for Cardinal Brands, Inc. ($100 million) and Bank of America for Harps Food Stores Inc. ($110 million) as well as credit facilities agented by The Bank of New York for Insight Midwest Holdings, LLC ($1.95 billion), CVS Corporation ($675 million), Cleco Corporation and its subsidiary, Cleco Power, LLC ($275 million), CNF, Inc. ($400 million), Patriot Media and Communications ($282 million), Salem Communications Corporation ($300 million), Tiffany & Co ($300 million), and John Hancock Funds ($250 million).

On the borrower side, the Firm closed 16 transactions with an aggregate value in excess of $5.5 billion. Our clients include both public and private companies engaged in a wide variety of industries.

“The clients whom we regularly represent and the nature of the transactions on which we are engaged continue to enhance Bryan Cave’s reputation as a significant presence in this market,” said New York Partner Jeffrey S. Chavkin, who is also leader of the Banking, Business and Public Finance Client Service Group.
