Bruce Shnider Named President of Emergency Foodshelf Network Board
MINNEAPOLIS (Jan. 24, 2006) — Bruce Shnider has been named president of the Emergency Foodshelf Network (EFN) board of directors. He is a partner in the Minneapolis office of law firm Dorsey & Whitney.

"With great excitement, I want to congratulate Bruce on becoming president of EFN's board of directors,” said Tim Barnes, EFN executive director. “I believe our board will benefit greatly from his leadership and counsel as our organization continues to expand its services throughout the metro and greater Minnesota."

The Emergency Foodshelf Network is a nonprofit organization that collects, warehouses and distributes high quality food and essential support services to Minnesota hunger relief organizations. The EFN network of 180 member agencies provide more than seven million pounds of nonperishable, perishable and prepared food to more than one million individuals annually.

“I’m privileged to have been involved with Emergency Foodshelf Network for many years. It’s an honor to help lead its Minnesota hunger relief initiatives,” said Shnider.

In his legal practice, Shnider focuses on federal income taxation, including executive compensation, structured financing/securitizations, and mergers and acquisitions. He also provides general tax advice to investment banking companies, venture capital funds, financial institutions and public companies.

Western Refining, Inc. IPO
Davis Polk & Wardwell advised Banc of America Securities LLC, Deutsche Bank Securities Inc., Bear Stearns & Co. Inc. and Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated as underwriters in connection with the initial public offering of 25,875,000 shares of common stock of Western Refining, Inc. for approximately $440 million. The common shares were listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

Western Refining, Inc., headquartered in El Paso, Texas, is an independent crude oil refiner and marketer of refined products, operating primarily in the Southwest region of the United States, including Arizona, New Mexico and West Texas.

The Davis Polk corporate team included partner Michael Kaplan and associates Maurice Blanco, David Dorfman and Bradley Mitchell of the New York office. Counsel Marcie A. Goldstein and legal assistant Peggy Ann Petercsak of the New York office provided NASD advice.
