Jones Day acts for WL Ross on completion of the acquisition of Collins & Aikman
London, UK – Jones Day acted for WL Ross & Co., LLC in its successful bid for the insolvent Collins & Aikman European group (""C&A"") and its $600 million operations in Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

WL Ross is an existing client of Jones Day's US practice, but this is the first transaction for the London office. Adam Plainer who led the team said ""we are extremely pleased to have acted for WLR. The deal had many unique facets including provision of debtor in possession lending to the administrators coupled with the complexity of a cross border European transaction"".

C&A, whose European businesses were placed into administration in the UK on 15 July with Simon Appell and Alastair Beveridge of Kroll's Corporate Advisory & Restructuring Group as Joint Administrators, employ 2,300 people and supply interior parts and trim to car manufacturers including Ford Motor Co., General Motors Corp., DaimlerChrysler, Porsche, Saab, Volkswagen, and Volvo.

The deal completed on 1st March 2006.

The Jones Day team was led by Partner Adam Plainer and involved several London practices: Business Restructuring and Reorganisation, Corporate, Property and Environmental, Competition, Employment, IP and Pensions. Jones Day offices in Belgium, Germany and Spain assisted on the European legal issues. Denton Wilde Sapte, led by Michael Rutstein, and Kirkland & Ellis, led by Partha Kar, advised the Administrators.

WL Ross & Co., LLC are the driving force behind the International Auto Components Group (""IAC"") joint venture company with Franklin Mutual Advisers LLC, and Lear Corporation.

WolfBlock Partner Speaks at 26th Annual Debtor-Creditor Conference
Philadelphia- March 1, 2006 – WolfBlock partner Michael Temin spoke at the University of Wisconsin Law School's 26th Annual Debtor-Creditor Conference in Madison, WI, on February 17. His presentation addressed ""Substantive Consolidation.""

Temin is a partner in the firm's Business Litigation and Financial Services Practice Groups in the Philadelphia office. He deals extensively with problems and opportunities created by business insolvencies, representing (both in bankruptcy cases and out-of-court) debtors, creditors, committees and others who participate in the restructuring of insolvent businesses.

Temin received his LL.B. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1957 and his B.A. from Yale University in 1954.

WolfBlock Partner at Pennsylvania Bankruptcy Conference
Philadelphia- March 1, 2006 – WolfBlock partner Michael Temin moderated the panel discussing Third Circuit decisions at the annual forum of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania Bankruptcy Conference held on January 28 in Princeton, NJ.

The Eastern District of Pennsylvania Bankruptcy Conference is an association of lawyers, other professionals and paraprofessionals who practice bankruptcy and creditors' rights law in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Temin, a resident of WolfBlock's Philadelphia office, is a partner in the firm's Business Litigation and Financial Services Practice Groups. Douglas Karet Lectures At University of Colorado
DENVER (March 1, 2006) - Holland & Hart LLP is pleased to announce that Douglas Karet has been appointed to the faculty at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

He is a Lecturer in the Civil Engineering department and is currently teaching a graduate level course entitled Legal Aspects of Construction. This course applies law to the practice of engineering, architecture and construction management, and covers topics including construction contract documents, torts, agency, partnership, professional liability, and legal responsibilities and ethical requirements of architects and professional engineers.

Mr. Karet joined Holland & Hart in the fall of 2001 as a member of the Construction and Real Estate Litigation Group. He has a Masters in Construction Engineering and Management from the University of Colorado. Mr. Karet practices in all areas of construction and real estate litigation. He specializes in representing developers, general contractors, subcontractors, and material suppliers. He also has experience representing property owners in condemnation action by state and local authorities and representing contractors regarding payment issues.

Kramer Levin Strengthens Its Real Estate and Public Capacities With the Arrival of Two New Lawyers
Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP is pleased to announce that David Blondel, who has 15 years experience in real estate financing and investment, has joined the firm’s Paris office as Counsel. Mr. Blondel will continue to build upon his practice with a French and foreign clientele of real estate operators, financial institutions and investment funds.

Prior to joining Kramer Levin, Mr. Blondel, 38, spent his career in the legal department of Natexis Banques Populaires where he acted as the Legal Director of the real estate department since 2000.

Mr. Blondel received a “DESS” in International Business Law from Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne in 1991 and a LLM in Private Law from the University of Rouen in 1990. He was also an adjunct professor for an International Business Law class at the European Business School from 1999 to 2005.

Sabine Naugès joins the firm as an Associate to strengthen the Public Law team. She is a member of both the Paris and New York Bars and holds a Ph. D in Public Law. She received a LL.M. from American University, Washington College of Law (Washington D.C.) in Law and Government in 2005, as well as a postgraduate diploma in Public law in 1996, and a masters in public law and public administration in 1995 from Panthéon-Sorbonne University.

Prior to joining Kramer Levin, Ms. Naugès was a junior lecturer at the Panthéon-Sorbonne University from 2000 to 2002 and an in-house counsel at France Télécom from 2002 to 2004.

Ms. Naugès will continue her practice in the fields of internal and international public law, French and European competition law, telecommunications law and administrative litigation, together, with among others, Jean-Pierre Mattout, partner in the firm.

Derrick Mitchell joins Winstead as shareholder
Houston (Mar 01, 2006) — Derrick Mitchell, a Houston public law attorney and member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers, has joined Winstead Sechrest & Minick P.C. as a shareholder in the Public Finance Practice Group. Mitchell has been practicing law since 1999 serving as bond counsel, disclosure counsel and underwriters' counsel for tax exempt financings for cities, counties, state agencies and other entities.

In 2004, he received the President's Award from the Houston Young Lawyers Association. He is a member of the Houston Bar Association, the Houston Lawyers Association and the Greater Houston Partnership. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Midtown Redevelopment Authority and he is the Policy Council Chair for the American Heart Association.
