First Russian Corporate Eurobond of 2006 Hits Market
London, March 3, 2006 ... White & Case advised Credit Suisse and ABN Amro as lead managers on a $200 million Regulation S Eurobond issue by Russian IT and electronics business Sitronics. Sitronics is a subsidiary of London-listed Sistema, and was formed in May 1997, manufacturing telecommunications equipment, software and security systems. In the first three-quarters of 2005 it registered revenues of $652.3 million. The issue comprised 7.875% Notes due 2009 and marks the first corporate Eurobond from Russia this year.

""Russia's traditional Eurobond issuers have been the heavyweight first-tier natural resources firms, but the mid-market of Russian business remains relatively untapped,” explained White & Case partner Tim Jeveons. ""With investor confidence in Russian businesses steadily rising, there's now an opportunity for more mid-size companies, outside of the traditional natural resources sector, to come to the Eurobond market. The due diligence requirements are higher and the covenant package tighter in order to reassure investors, but the appetite is certainly there, as demonstrated by this Sitronics issue.”

The White & Case team was led by partner Tim Jeveons, working with partners Rob Mathews and Stuart Matty and associate Michael Bark-Jones.
