HILL WALLACK LAUNCHES FTMONMOUTHBLOG.COM, A NEW BLOG ON THE REDEVELOPMENT OF FORT MONMOUTH
One of New Jersey's leading land use firms, Hill Wallack, today unveiled www.ftmonmouthblog.com, a new weblog dedicated to providing the most up-to-date news and information related to the redevelopment of the Fort Monmouth.

The 89-year old military post, consisting of approximately 1,126 acres across the towns of Oceanport, Eatontown and Tinton Falls, in Monmouth County, New Jersey is scheduled to close in less than five years. Since the recent base closure decision, local, county and state officials have been focusing their efforts on the redevelopment of the site. Those efforts led to the passage this past week of legislation creating the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority, expected to be signed by Governor Jon S. Corzine shortly.

Hill Wallack has created a comprehensive blog with links to the laws, new articles, reports, and public hearings concerning all aspects of the redevelopment process. The blog will provide frequent updates on the latest news and developments related to Fort Monmouth.

""The blog will provide a forum for a rational dialogue on Fort Monmouth, a place where all citizens and interested parties can gather information on what will certainly be the single largest development project in New Jersey this decade. Decisions made in the next few years will determine whether this area remains a vibrant part of Monmouth County's economy or lies dormant and stuck in a bureaucratic morass. As land use specialists, we too often see rumors, urban myths, and misinformation campaigns needlessly delay or derail redevelopment efforts. Add to that the federal government's involvement and this process could become hopelessly bogged down, as has been the case in other base closings,"" says Paul P. Josephson, Partner-in-Charge of the Firm's Regulatory and Government Affairs Practice Group.

""This project is simply too important to the New Jersey economy to allow that to happen. We hope to create an electronic town meeting where citizens can obtain accurate information, debate the issues and priorities, and develop a consensus that results in a positive outcome with widespread community support.""

Submissions for inclusion on ftmonmouthblog.com can be directed to John Tatulli at jrt@hillwallack.com. Questions regarding specific legal issues and counseling on the redevelopment of Fort Monmouth should be directed to Paul P. Josephson at (609) 734-6319 or ppj@hillwallack.com.
