Stroock Advises WNYC, New York Public Radio
2006…Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP, a national law firm with
offices in New York, Los Angeles and Miami, represented WNYC Radio, the nation’s largest public
radio station, in its move to a new and larger facility located in Lower Manhattan.

“Stroock’s tireless efforts on behalf of WNYC as we worked to secure a new home were nothing
less than extraordinary,” said Laura Walker, President and CEO of WNYC Radio. “Words cannot
adequately express how grateful we are to have the invaluable counsel of a legal team as capable,
committed and wise as Stroock.”

Stroock represented WNYC Radio in the leasing of approximately 75,000 square feet of studio,
office and performance space at 160-170 Varick Street (10 Hudson Square) for an initial term of 20
years. The deal will result in WNYC moving its studios and offices from the Municipal Building at
One Centre Street to a building owned by Trinity Church in Lower Manhattan. In addition to
expansion and renewal rights, WNYC will also be entitled under the lease to have exterior signage
and the right to use the ground floor portion as a performance space. Real Estate Partners, Jack
Bart and Ross Moskowitz, and Associate Diana Brummer, are the Stroock attorneys who worked
on this transaction.

WNYC, New York Public Radio, is New York’s premier public radio station, comprising WNYC
93.9 FM and WNYC AM 820. As America’s most listened-to public radio stations, reaching over
one million listeners each week, WNYC FM and AM extend New York City’s cultural riches to the
whole country and air the best national offerings from affiliate networks National Public Radio and
Public Radio International. WNYC 93.9 FM broadcasts a broad range of daily news, talk, cultural
and classical music programming, while WNYC AM 820 maintains a stronger focus on breaking
news and international news reporting. For more information, visit www.wnyc.org.
