Pepper Hamilton and The Abraham Group Form Strategic Alliance

Pepper Represents Brandywine Realty Trust in Offering of $850 Million in Senior Unsecured Notes
Pepper Hamilton LLP represented Brandywine Realty Trust in a new offering of $850 million of senior unsecured notes. The underwriting agreement on the offering settled on March 28, 2006. Joint book-running managers for the offering are JPMorgan, Wachovia Securities and Merrill Lynch & Co., with RBS Greenwich Capital and Wells Fargo Securities as senior co-managers, and BNY Capital Markets, Inc., Commerzbank Corporates & Markets, Piper Jaffray, PNC Capital Markets LLC and SunTrust Capital Markets, Inc. as co-managers.

The Pepper team representing Brandywine was led by partner Michael H. Friedman.

Supreme Court Justice Encourages Students to Pursue Legal Careers
The Thurgood Marshall Academy, a charter school in Washington, DC, recently welcomed U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen G. Breyer as its guest of honor for a face-to-face dialogue aimed at inspiring students to pursue careers in law and justice.

Justice Breyer shared the experiences that led him to his current position on the High Court and explored several law-related professional opportunities with the students, among other things. The dialogue was moderated by Fred Graham, Senior Anchor for Court TV, in conjunction with the network’s “Careers in Justice” initiative.

Jenner & Block is a longtime supporter of the school, which integrates in its curriculum issues of justice, equality, law and government. The Firm’s Washington, DC office has been involved in the school’s innovative tutoring program and has adopted its graduating class of 2006. As part of the tutoring program, each week students are brought to the Firm for one-on-one tutoring session with partners, associates and staff.

Attending the special reception for Justice Breyer at the school was Partner Jerome L. Epstein, who serves as the Thurgood Marshall Academy Tutoring Coordinator for Jenner & Block.

King & Spalding April E-Learn Seminar Examines International Employment Management
International Aspects of Managing Employees,"" an hour-long interactive Web seminar offered by King & Spalding to clients of the firm, will take place on Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at 12:30 p.m. EST. The monthly program is part of the King & Spalding E-Learn Series on current developments in the law, now in its fourth year.

The April 18 program has been developed jointly by the firm's labor and employment practice and employee benefits and executive compensation practice for lawyers and human resources executives who manage employees in the United States and the UK or who are involved in mergers and acquisitions of businesses with employees located in the United States and Europe.

Speakers will be King & Spalding Atlanta partner Samuel M. Matchett of the labor and employment practice and Atlanta associate Laura M. Nolen and London associate Pulina K. Whitaker, both of the employee benefits and executive compensation practice.

The seminar will be presented online from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. EST. King & Spalding Obtains Successful Jury Verdict For S1 Corporation in Intellectual Property Dispute
King & Spalding LLP, a leading international law firm, successfully represented S1 Corporation, a developer of enterprise financial services software, in a patent infringement action brought against the company and its client, Bank of America, by TradeCard, Inc., in a jury trial in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. The plaintiff sought in excess of $10 million in damages and an injunction preventing further sales of an S1 Corporation software product.

A jury last week found in favor of S1 Corporation. The jury found not only that S1 did not infringe the plaintiff’s patent, but also TradeCard’s patent was invalid.

The King & Spalding trial team consisted of partners Holmes J. Hawkins III and Shane A. Nichols and associate James J. Mayberry.
