Fulbright Contract Lawyer Lays Down the Law for Attorneys Around the Globe
New York is a financial capital for the global economy, and New York law governs billions of dollars in transactions involving companies around the world. But until now, there hasn’t been a work that allows attorneys, corporate leaders and financiers to maintain familiarity with the inner workings of New York contract law. A new publication from Thomson West titled New York Contract Law, authored by Glen Banks, partner at Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P., promises to be the single desktop reference tool for practitioners anywhere in the world who are involved in transactions governed by New York law.
Glen Banks
New York
PartnerNew York Contract Law offers clear analysis and commentary on all aspects of contracts governed by New York law; it discusses contract terms and clauses, as well as drafting strategies, to protect client interests. The book is a critical working manual for those who draft and perform agreements governed by New York law, and will be invaluable in sorting out the complex commercial disputes that often arise under these agreements.

“The advantage the book offers is that it collects, organizes and succinctly presents New York law on a subject that is of day-to-day importance to both the New York practitioner and the transaction lawyer or commercial litigation attorney at a national law firm or major corporation/financial institution,” says Banks. “It also will be a reference tool to foreign practitioners who participate in transactions and agreements with American companies and financial institutions.”

Highlights of New York Contract Law include thorough analysis of relevant case law and statutes; expert commentary on vital issues and practice tips based on years of practice and litigation experience; and finding tools like the Table of Cases, Table of Laws and Rules, and Index. The publication will help quickly locate answers and provides additional research citations for those researching New York law and practitioners in national law firms, in major corporations or financial institutions, or in foreign countries who are involved in complex commercial transactions with documents governed by New York law.
