Joseph Maslowski Joins Roetzel & Andress as Chief Financial Officer
The law firm of Roetzel & Andress is pleased to announce Joseph F. Maslowski has joined the firm as Chief Financial Officer. Maslowski brings 20 years of financial expertise as an executive in both privately held and publicly traded organizations.

Maslowski began his career as an auditor for an international public accounting firm, and was most recently the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Vice President of a privately held $200 million in revenue distribution company based in Cleveland, Ohio. He has been directly involved in corporate development, corporate finance and strategic financial management and is an active member in the northeast Ohio business community.

Kelley Drye & Warren and Collier Shannon Scott Announce Merger
New York, NY and Washington, DC - The law firms of Kelley Drye & Warren LLP and Collier Shannon Scott, PLLC announced today that they have merged, forming a single firm that will offer the premier practices and distinguished client service for which each firm is known. Nationally and internationally, the firm will operate as Kelley Drye & Warren LLP; in the Washington, DC region, the firm will be known as Kelley Drye Collier Shannon.

The combined firm has nearly 400 lawyers and other professionals, of which more than 150 are located in the Washington DC area. The move significantly expands Kelley Drye's presence in Washington, where both Kelley Drye and Collier Shannon have had nationally recognized practices for several decades. The merger was announced by John M. Callagy, Kelley Drye’s Chairman, and Paul C. Rosenthal, Managing Partner of the firm’s Washington DC office and former Chairman of Collier Shannon Scott. Danny E. Adams, who will remain as Managing Partner of Kelley Drye's Northern Virginia office, and Brad E. Mutschelknaus, who managed Kelley Drye's Washington office, will continue as members of the firmwide Executive Committee.

ABA Presents 2006 Jean Allard Glass Cutter Award to Fried Frank’s Dixie Johnson
New York, NY, April 10, 2006 — Dixie L. Johnson, a partner in the Washington, DC office of Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP, was presented the 2006 Jean Allard Glass Cutter Award by the American Bar Association Section of Business Law. Judge Alvin W. Thompson, Section Chair, presented the Award to Ms. Johnson at the ABA Section of Business Law Spring Meeting held last week in Tampa, Florida.

The Jean Allard Glass Cutter Award is presented to an exceptional woman business lawyer who has made significant contributions both to the profession and to the Section of Business Law. The Award is named for Jean Allard, the first woman to chair the section. During the Award presentation, Ms. Johnson was noted as “a woman who has cut through barriers to attain high accomplishment in business law.”

Ms. Johnson co-heads Fried Frank’s securities regulation and enforcement practice group. She counsels public companies, board committees, broker-dealers, investment advisers, corporate officers, legal and accounting professionals and others regarding their regulatory and disclosure obligations; assisting clients in developing policies and procedures to prevent violations; conducting internal investigations; and representing parties in adversarial situations involving the federal securities laws, most frequently United States Securities and Exchange Commission enforcement matters, including litigation.

She is Chair of the committee on Federal Regulation of Securities of the American Bar Association, Section of Business Law and a member of the Executive Council of the Federal Bar Association’s Securities Law Committee. She is also a member of the Legal Advisory Committee of the New York Stock Exchange. Most recently she was appointed to the Securities Law Advisory panel, a joint undertaking of the American Law Institute and the American Bar Association. Ms Johnson joined the firm in 1986 and became a partner in 1993.

Shook Attorneys Join the Firm
Stinson Morrison Hecker LLP announces the addition of Craig L. Evans and Anthony J. Strait to its Kansas City office. Evans and Strait previously lead the mergers and acquisitions and securities law practices of Shook, Hardy & Bacon LLP, and will join Stinson’s Corporate Finance Division as partners.

With the addition of Shook’s mergers and acquisitions and securities law practices, Stinson Morrison Hecker’s Corporate Finance Division represents the largest concentration of transactional and securities lawyers in the Kansas City area. Evans received his bachelor’s degree from William Jewell College and his juris doctorate from the University of Kansas.
