Davis Graham & Stubbs Partner Gale Miller Receives Highest Award from Colorado Lawyers Committee
Gale T. Miller, partner in the Trial Department of Davis
Graham & Stubbs LLP, will be presented with the highest award of the Colorado Lawyers
Committee at their 2006 Annual Luncheon on May 24. The Colorado Lawyers Committee is
a 28-year-old nonprofit, nonpartisan consortium of Denver-area law firms dedicated to providing
opportunities for Colorado's disadvantaged communities through high impact pro bono
work. The Outstanding Sustained Contribution Award is given annually to the individual who
has made important contributions to the work of the CLC over an extended period of time.
In announcing the award, the CLC noted that for 25 years Miller has demonstrated extraordinary
commitment to the work of the Colorado Lawyers Committee, starting in 1981 when he
volunteered to represent tenants in a Grand Junction housing project. In 1994 he received the
CLC Individual of the Year Award for his leadership in the well-known case Sanchez v. State
of Colorado that resulted in the redrawing of House District 60 in southern Colorado to
enforce Hispanic voting rights. In 1985 Miller joined the CLC Board of Directors, served as
Chair of the Board during 1989-1991, and rejoined the Executive Committee in 2004.
""We are very pleased that Gale is receiving this award from the CLC,"" said DGS's managing
partner, Chris Richardson. ""Based on his many years of significant contributions to CLC
matters, this is a well-deserved award for Gale. He has always set an example for the rest of
us on how to quietly make a significant impact in whatever he does, whether for a client, the
community or our firm.
