Tennessee General Assembly Adopts Resolution Honoring Nashville Lawyer James I. Vance Berry
The Tennessee House and Senate recently adopted House Joint Resolution 848 to honor and commend James I. Vance Berry for his meritorious volunteer service to the citizens of Tennessee. Mr. Berry was honored for his more than 50 years of volunteer service and his dedication to the Nashville legal community.

Mr. Berry is one of the founding members of the Nashville law firm, Boult, Cummings, Conners & Berry, PLC. He continues to practice law on the real estate team at the firm and currently serves as the city attorney for the City of Belle Meade. Mr. Berry is well respected in the local legal community and the real estate industry. He has been listed for more than 10 years in the national publication, The Best Lawyers in America ®, for his real estate practice.

Mr. Berry has volunteered with several organizations throughout his lifetime. He is one of the founders of the Middle Tennessee Chapter of the American Diabetes Association and served on the National ADA Board of Directors. In addition, Mr. Berry was a former member of the Citizen’s Advisory Committee of the YMCA Community Action Project.

Mr. Berry has a long history of volunteering at the Nashville School of Law – he taught Real Property Law from 1974 until 1998 and served for many years as a trustee. In 2005, the school dedicated the “James I. Vance Berry Board Room” at the new facility.

MCC Interviews Salomon on Securities Litigation
St. John & Wayne attorney Claude E. Salomon was interviewed by Metropolitan Corporate Counsel Magazine (MCC) for its April, 2006 edition. Ms. Salomon discussed securities litigation and regulation in a wide-ranging interview. She reflects on the current state of securities regulation and offers suggestions for avoiding potential minefields. The interview was published in the April 2006 edition. Prominent Securities Litigator Salvatore J. Graziano Joins BLB&G
Bernstein Litowitz Berger & Grossmann is pleased to announce that veteran securities litigator Salvatore J. Graziano has joined the firm as a Partner.

A former Assistant District Attorney at the New York County District Attorney's Office, Mr. Graziano has over 15 years of significant trial and litigation experience. Seven Baron & Budd Attorneys Earn "D Magazine" Honors
Seven attorneys with the law firm of Baron & Budd, P.C. have been selected to the D Magazine list of “Best Lawyers in Dallas under 40” for 2006. Ashurst advised on €815 million refinancing in relation to the acquisition of Amadeus
Ashurst advised the mandated lead arrangers on €815 million of additional facilities in connection with a partial refinancing of the acquisition of Amadeus. The additional senior and second lien facilities were used to refinance the subordinated bridge facility put in place as part of the original financing of the bid by BC Partners and Cinven for Spanish-based Amadeus Global Travel Distribution.

Amadeus is the leading global distribution system and technology provider to the world's travel and tourism industries. The bid for Amadeus was one of Europe's largest leveraged buy-outs at the time and is the largest leveraged buy-out in Spain to date.

The financing was arranged by Credit Suisse First Boston International, Barclays Capital, Merrill Lynch International, J.P. Morgan Plc and The Royal Bank of Scotland.

The substantial, cross-border Ashurst team was led by international finance partner Jane Fissenden with partners Nigel Ward and James Hogben in London and partner Juan Hormaechea in Madrid, assisted by Beatriz Sainz, Cosme Colmenero, Juan Ramon Manzanaro, Kirsty Holness, Nicholas Pawson, Martin Roseveare and Scott Webster.

Ashurst advised RBS, Bayerische Hypo-und Vereinsbank and Allied Irish Banks in relation to the acquisition of Doncasters Group
Ashurst advised The Royal Bank of Scotland plc (RBS), Bayerische Hypo-und Vereinsbank AG and Allied Irish Banks plc in relation to the acquisition of Doncasters Group Ltd by Dubai International Capital (DIC). The banks acted as mandated lead arranger of senior, second lien and mezzanine facilities with a total value of £491 million.

Doncasters Group is a British engineering company that provides components for the civil and military aerospace industries. The group was formed in 2001 through the integration of a number of specialist engineering firms and its clients include the US military. DIC is a state-owned investment company.

The Ashurst international finance team was led by partner Nigel Ward and comprised solicitors Paul Stewart, Catherine Dauger de Caulaincourt, Kirsty Holness and trainee Anna Cossey, as well as partner Tom Beckerhoff with Imke Rabe in Frankfurt.
