Parker Poe Adds Partner to Real Estate and Commercial Development Practice Group In Raleigh
Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP today announced that David T. Buckingham has joined the law firm as a partner in its Raleigh office.

Mr. Buckingham has considerable experience in securitized transactions, including the representation of both the trustee and issuer in issuances ranging from $250 million to $1.45 billion. He also has significant leasing experience representing real estate developers and owners of commercial buildings. He is regularly retained by leading corporations and nationally recognized law firms to serve as local counsel in financing transactions.

Mr. Buckingham is licensed to practice law in North Carolina, Maryland, Texas and the District of Columbia. He was previously a partner in Smith Anderson’s commercial real estate practice group. Mr. Buckingham was named among the 2006 North Carolina Super Lawyers for real estate transactions. He received his J.D. (1983) and B.A. (1980) from Duke University.

FETF Partner Named IPLAC Vice-President
Congratulations to Joseph Shipley! FETF partner in the Chicago office is scheduled to advance to the position of Vice-President of the Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago during the 2008-2009 year. This honor is in recognition by the intellectual property bar in Chicago of Joe's position within the legal community. KEITH D. NOWAK JOINS CARTER LEDYARD & MILBURN LLP
Carter Ledyard & Milburn LLP announced today that Keith D. Nowak joined the firm’s Intellectual Property Department as a partner. Mr. Nowak was previously a partner at Dickstein Shapiro Morin & Oshinsky LLP.

Mr. Nowak has extensive experience in intellectual property litigation in the Federal District Courts and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, as well as in all aspects of practice before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. Mr. Nowak, who has advanced degrees in engineering, is heavily engaged in matters involving complex electrical/electronic systems and computer technology. He also is involved in rendering validity and infringement opinions in areas of advanced technology, technology transfer and licensing and has negotiated numerous international license agreements in the areas of patents, trademarks and software.

Mariann Butch Named Partner
Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff LLP is pleased to announce that Mariann E. Butch has been named partner in the firm.

Ms. Butch is a member of the firm's Trial Practice Group and has advocated for clients in state, federal and appellate courts and arbitration forums such as the International Chamber of Commerce. She focuses her practice on resolving issues commonly faced by manufacturers and distributors including product safety, product liability avoidance, distribution chain management, contract dispute resolution and franchise agreement enforcement. Robert L. Kilroy Named to List of Massachusetts Super Lawyers - Rising Star Edition
Upton resident Robert L. Kilroy has been named by the publications Boston magazine and Law & Politics to the list of Massachusetts “Rising Stars” for 2006.

Mr. Kilroy is an attorney with the law firm of Mirick O’Connell. He was one of four lawyers from Mirick O’Connell chosen for that prestigious list of top attorneys in the state.

Massachusetts Rising Stars are selected by their peers, and through independent research conducted by the publishers of Law & Politics. The research team evaluates prospective candidates for indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement, including civic service and pro bono activities. Rising Stars must be 40 or younger, or have been practicing law for less than 10 years. Only 2.5 percent of Massachusetts lawyers were named 2006.

Mr. Kilroy received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Cornell Law School, and his B.S., with honors, from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. B.S. from Northeastern University.
