Insurance and Reinsurance Attorney H. Marc Tepper Named to Central Atlantic Region AICC Board
Insurance and Reinsurance attorney H. Marc Tepper was recently named to serve on the Board of Directors of the Central Atlantic Region America-Israel Chamber of Commerce (AICC). Tepper is a shareholder in the Philadelphia office of Buchanan Ingersoll.

The AICC is the only organization in the Greater Philadelphia region devoted exclusively to promoting business development with Israel. The Central Atlantic Region serves Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey and Delaware.

INROADS and Law Firm Diversity
Blackwell Sanders attorney Malika Simmons was a featured panelist at the March 3, 2006, NALP national conference on law firm diversity initiatives in Chicago, Ill. Simmons described the firm’s INROADS process and how it has helped Blackwell Sanders identify, recruit and hire talented minority lawyers.

Much Shelist Names New Principals, Reelects Management Committee
Chicago-based law firm Much Shelist has named five new principals and elevated two existing principals to equity status. The firm has also reelected its current Management Committee for another year-long term, beginning June 1, 2006. Management Committee members include David T. Brown (Chair), Neal T. Goldstein, Don S. Hershman, Steven A. Kanner, Mitchell S. Roth and Steven Schwartz.

New Equity Principals

Mark S. Litner, elevated from principal to equity principal in the Real Estate practice group, handles a broad range of commercial, industrial and residential real estate transactions. He assists clients in purchasing, selling, developing, financing and leasing real estate; completing tax-free exchanges of real estate; resolving landlord/tenant disputes; structuring financing arrangements; and handling loan workouts. Litner also counsels clients on compliance with environmental regulations affecting real estate and acts as an adviser to condominium associations. He received a J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law, an M.B.A. from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a B.A. (magna cum laude) from Tufts University.

Michael R. Wolfe, elevated from principal to equity principal in the Real Estate practice group, has nearly 35 years of experience serving clients in all areas of real estate transactions and finance, including developments, purchases, sales, exchanges and leases. He concentrates his practice on the representation of commercial, residential and shopping center developers, and the representation of financial institutions in real estate-related loan transactions. Wolfe received a J.D. from DePaul University College of Law and a B.S. from the University of Illinois.

New Principals

Michael D. Burstein, elevated from associate to principal in the Real Estate practice group, handles a broad range of real estate transactions, including commercial acquisitions and dispositions; commercial, office and industrial leasing on behalf of landlords and tenants; and condominium project development. In his secured transactions practice, Burstein helps lenders and borrowers initiate, negotiate, structure and close commercial loan transactions, including real estate and construction transactions. He received a J.D. (cum laude) from Northwestern University School of Law and an A.B. from Stanford University.

Jason L. LaBella, elevated from associate to principal in the Real Estate practice group, handles a broad range of real estate transactions, including commercial and industrial acquisitions, dispositions, refinancings and tax-deferred exchanges. He also handles commercial, industrial, medical office and ground leasing on behalf of tenants and landlords, as well as condominium developments. LaBella received a J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law and a B.A. from Pennsylvania State University.

David M. Pilotto, elevated from associate to principal in the Business & Finance practice group, concentrates his practice in corporate and tax law. In the corporate area, he represents a diverse group of clients in connection with organizations, mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and other transactions. He also handles a variety of general corporate matters, including drafting and reviewing contracts, loan agreements and other documents. In his tax practice, Pilotto provides guidance in federal tax planning for business organizations and individuals. He received a J.D. (cum laude) from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and a B.A. from Western Illinois University.

Lorne T. Saeks, elevated from associate to principal in the Litigation and Labor & Employment practice groups, represents a broad range of businesses, organizations and individuals in all aspects of labor and employment law. He has represented clients in diverse litigation matters, ranging from civil rights claims to disputes under state and federal labor laws, collective bargaining agreements and employment contracts. Saeks also helps clients negotiate employment contracts and has experience in handling union-related matters before state and federal agencies. He received a J.D. from Indiana University School of Law and a B.S. from the University of Illinois.

Michael B. Shaw, elevated from associate to principal in the Business & Finance practice group, represents clients in connection with a broad range of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital financings, business succession planning, strategic alliances and joint ventures. Shaw has extensive experience advising officers, directors and shareholders regarding general corporate and business law issues. He also handles other corporate matters, including contract drafting and review, and corporate structuring and governance. Shaw received a J.D. (cum laude) from Northwestern University School of Law, an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and a B.A. (with honors, Phi Beta Kappa) from Northwestern University.

Tarullo Chosen as Chair Elect of ABA Construction Forum
