NICHOLS WOLFE LAW FIRM JOINS HALL ESTILL LAW FIRM
The lawyers of Nichols, Wolfe, Stamper, Nally, Fallis & Robertson, Inc. have
joined the law firm of Hall, Estill, Hardwick, Gable, Golden & Nelson, P.C., a move that
will increase resources provided to their clients.
The combination of Nichols Wolfe with Hall Estill will bring additional expertise
and depth to Hall Estill’s Tulsa office for a total of 75 lawyers and 116 attorneys firm
wide.
Nichols Wolfe was founded in 1965 and concentrated its practice in general
corporate and business law, as well as litigation. “We felt the timing was right to combine
forces with Hall Estill, said Thomas P. Nally, spokesperson for Nichols Wolfe.
“The philosophy and business focus of Hall Estill mesh nicely with what we have
created at Nichols Wolfe and we believe it is in the best interest of our clients to integrate
with Hall Estill,” he said.
“We are extremely delighted with the integration of Nichols Wolfe into Hall Estill
law firm, said Michael D. Cooke, President and Managing Partner of Hall Estill.
“With this venture, we are able to increase the size of many of our practice areas,
including Corporate and Banking law, as well as our Labor & Employment, Construction
and Real Estate Law groups, thus, bolstering the service we can provide to all of our
clients,” he said.
There are three attorneys who are joining Hall Estill’s ranks as shareholders. They
are Thomas P. Nally, Sarah E. Hansel and Trent A. Gudgel.
Thomas Nally earned a B.S. degree from the University of Tulsa in 1973 and his
J.D. from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 1976. His primary practice areas are
Business and Corporate Law; Mergers, Acquisitions and Commercial Transactions; and
Banking Law. He is admitted to practice in Oklahoma, federal and state courts, the
Northern District of Texas, the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States
Supreme Court. He is a member of the Tulsa County, Oklahoma and American Bar
Associations.
Sarah Hansel graduated summa cum laude from Eastern Illinois University in
1983 with a B.A. degree, and earned her J.D., with honors, from the University of
Oklahoma College of Law in 1989. Her primary practice areas are Banking & Finance,
Business Law, Commercial Transactions, Corporate Law and Licensing. She is admitted
to practice in Oklahoma and is a member of the Tulsa County, Oklahoma and American
Bar Associations.
Trent Gudgel earned a B.B.A. in 1986 and an M.B.A. in 1990 from the University
of Oklahoma, and his J.D. in 1990, from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. His
primary practice areas are Construction and Real Estate law, as well as Commercial
Litigation. He is admitted to practice in Oklahoma and Texas and is a member of the
Tulsa County, American and Oklahoma Bar Associations, as well as the State Bar of
Texas and Defense Research Institute.
An additional four attorneys are joining the firm in an of counsel position. They
are Jerry R. Nichols, Frank B. Wolfe, III, S.M. Fallis, Jr., and Thomas D. Robertson.
Jerry Nichols graduated from Oklahoma State University with his B.S. degree in
1964 and from the University of Tulsa College of Law with a J.D. in 1969. He primarily
practices in the Business, Corporate and Banking Law arenas, and is admitted to practice
in Oklahoma and the District of Columbia. He is a member of the Tulsa County,
Oklahoma and American Bar Associations, as well as the Bar Association of the District
of Columbia.
Frank Wolfe graduated from Washington & Lee University with a B.S. degree in
1961 and from the University of Tulsa College of Law with his J.D. in 1966. His primary
practice areas are Labor Relations and Employment Law. He is admitted to practice in
Oklahoma and is a member of the Tulsa County, Oklahoma and American Bar
Associations.
S.M. Fallis graduated from the University of Tulsa with a B.A. degree in 1957
and from the University of Tulsa College of Law with an LL.B. in 1960. His primary
areas of practice are Business and Corporate Law, as well as Employment Litigation. He
is admitted to practice in Oklahoma and is a member of the Tulsa County, Oklahoma and
American Bar Associations.
Thomas Robertson is a 1975 graduate of Austin College where he earned a B.A.
degree, and a 1978 graduate of Emory University where he earned a J.D. His primary
practice areas are Employment Law, Labor Relations and Civil Litigation. He is admitted
to practice in Oklahoma and Georgia, and is a member of the Tulsa County, Oklahoma
and American Bar Associations.
Two additional attorneys come to Hall Estill as associates. They are Stuart E. Van
De Wiele and Kristopher R. Tate.
Stuart Van De Wiele graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1995 with a
B.B.A. and in 1999 with a J.D., with highest honors, from the University of Tulsa
College of Law. His primary practice areas are Business and Corporate Law, as well as
Estate Planning and Probate Law. He is admitted to practice in Oklahoma and is a
member of the Tulsa County, Oklahoma and American Bar Associations.
Kristopher Tate is a 2001 graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a B.A.
degree, and he earned his J.D., with honors, in 2005 from the University of Oklahoma
College of Law. His primary practice areas are Construction, Litigation, Appellate
Practice and Business Law. He is admitted to practice in Oklahoma and is a member of
the Tulsa County, Oklahoma and American Bar Associations.

27 Foster Pepper Attorneys Named Super Lawyers® by Washington Law & Politics

AMANDA L. WALLS JOINS BUCKINGHAM, DOOLITTLE & BURROUGHS, LLP CANTON OFFICE
The law firm of Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs, LLP, is pleased to announce that Amanda L. Walls has joined the Employment & Workers’ Compensation Practice Group as an Associate resident in the Canton office.


Prior to joining the law firm, Ms. Walls worked for The Community Healthcare Coalition, Inc. in Canton, Ohio as Director of Programs and Government Affairs. She led the development, publishing, and public release of a Consumer Guide to Hospital Quality ranking 58 facilities in Northeast Ohio based on quality of care. Ms. Walls also impacted health policy by meeting regularly with state legislators and administrative agency executives, coordinated community health improvement projects, and advised plan sponsors on strategies to manage employee benefit costs.


Ms. Walls earned her J.D., magma cum laude, at The University of Akron School of Law in 2005. She was an assistant editor of the Akron Law Review and a member of the Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court Team, finishing third in the Midwest Regional Competition. She was also an officer of the Student Bar Association. Ms. Walls won a national writing competition sponsored by the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel for her article, “Don’t Bite the Hand that Feeds You: Why Aetna v. Davila is Good for Employment-Based Healthcare Benefits.” Ms. Walls was also the recipient of the Samuel Krugliak, The Honorable LeRoy Contie, Morrison Family, and Judge Sacks memorial scholarships. In addition, she earned her B.A. in Public Administration, magna cum laude, from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio in 2000.


Ms. Walls is a member of the American, Ohio State, Summit, and Stark County Bar Associations. She is Vice Chair for the 2006 Drum Corps International Competition Committee for the Professional Football Hall of Fame Festival. Ms. Walls has also been active in her community by volunteering with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Canton, United Way of Central Stark County, and the American Heart Association.

Former Senior Official in the Department of the Interior’s Solicitor’s Office, Peter J. Schaumberg, Joins Beveridge & Diamond, P.C
Beveridge & Diamond, P.C., the environmental, land use, and litigation law firm, is pleased to announce that Peter J. Schaumberg has joined the Firm’s Land Use Group as Of Counsel in its Washington, D.C. office. Schaumberg had worked for 25 years at the U.S. Department of the Interior, most recently as the Deputy Associate Solicitor for the Division of Mineral Resources/Assistant Solicitor for Onshore Minerals.

“With the recent expansion of our Land Use Group in San Francisco, the addition of Peter to our team here in Washington secures a strategic edge on both coasts,” said Fred Wagner, chair of Beveridge & Diamond’s Land Use and Project Development Practice Group. “Peter brings more than two decades of experience in federal public lands, energy development, and royalty regulation and litigation. This depth and breadth of knowledge surrounding the minerals programs of the Department of the Interior, in particular, will be a critical asset to our firm and our clients as we maintain our position as the recognized leader in environmental and land use law.”

In his role as Deputy Associate Solicitor, Schaumberg was responsible for managing a division of 22 attorneys that provided legal advice to the minerals programs of the Department of the Interior including the Bureau of Land Management, the Minerals Management Service and the Office of Surface Mining. As an advisor to the Secretary of the Interior, the Assistant Secretary for Land and Minerals Management, and the three bureau directors and staff, Schaumberg counseled these top officials on federal litigation, rulemaking and legislative drafting and review. Schaumberg developed a broad range of expertise in the principal areas of legal practice including federal and Indian lease royalty management, offshore minerals management, onshore federal minerals and surface mining.

Schaumberg previously served as the Deputy Assistant General Counsel for Petroleum Regulations in the United States Department of Energy and was an Honors Program Attorney in the Office of the Chief Counsel of the Internal Revenue Service.

Schaumberg has received numerous service awards including the Presidential Rank Senior Executive Service Meritorious Service Award and the Secretary of the Interior Meritorious Service Award. He has also co-authored several articles including, “Patent Pending: Department of the Interior Administration of the Mining Laws,” 46 Rocky Mt. Min. L. Inst. Ch. 16 (2000) and a section on “Royalty and Valuation and Payment” in Chapter 7 (Federal, State, And Indian Lands) in Lowe, Anderson, Smith, and Pierce, Eds., Oil and Gas Law (4th Ed. 2002).

Schaumberg is a Cum Laude graduate of Tulane University, and received his JD, with honors, from George Washington University National Law Center. He is also a member of the District of Columbia Bar, Supreme Court Bar and a member of the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation.

She received her bachelor’s degree in biology, cum laude, from Walla Walla College in College Place, Washington, and her law degree, cum laude, with a certificate in general business law, from Lewis & Clark Law School, in Portland, OR. During law school, she was a recipient of the Dean’s Fellowship for Excellence, was a member of the Lewis & Clark Law Review, participated in the American Bar Association Law Student Tax Challenge, and received an award for community service.
