His legal work in the oil and gas sector of the energy industry during 2005 earned Baker Botts partner David Asmus an 'Award for Excellence' from Chambers USA 2006. Asmus received the special recognition at the legal publication's inaugural U.S. awards ceremony in New York on June 1, 2006.

""Renowned as a leader in the field, David Asmus is globally recognized by his clients and peers for his expertise in the oil and gas sector,"" Chambers USA 2006 editors noted in the event's program.

Asmus is the partner in charge of the firm's global oil and gas practice. In 2005, Asmus was involved in major operations such as the Equatorial Guinea LNG project, the Peru LNG project and the proposed Alaska natural gas pipeline project.
