Corporate Finance Attorney Buchanan\'s Election to Technology Council Noted in Pittsburgh Tribune-Review
Corporate Finance shareholder Thomas G. Buchanan's election to the Pittsburgh Technology Council was noted in the June 3, 2006, edition of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

Buchanan was named to the council's Board of Directors. The council works with members of the technology industry, facilitating guidance on business development and educational programming and entrepreneur mentoring programs, among others.

Finance, Indian Law Expertise Top-Ranked in International Publication
Two attorneys at Bracewell & Giuliani LLP ranked No. 1 in their practices, according 2006 Chambers & Partners USA, and the firm's Native American law practice received the top national practice area listing as well.

Bill Hayes of Houston was named No. 1 in Texas for banking and finance for the fourth consecutive year, and Nancy Appleby was named No. 1 nationally for Native American law. For the past two years, she has been named No. 1 in New Mexico for her expertise in Native American law.

Bracewell continues to rank as Texas leaders in banking and finance, intellectual property, real estate, tax and environment, while energy continues to rank highly in both Texas and Washington, D.C.

The firm exceeded last year's listings by moving up to 16 recognized practices, adding Washington, D.C.'s electricity practice. Individually, a total of 23 attorneys were recognized. Bracewell attorneys new to the list are Roger Aksamit, Dewey Gonsoulin, Constance Rhebergen, Warren Harris and Timothy Wilkins.

Eight Nexsen Pruet Lawyers Named Among SC\'s Best; Three Practices Rated No. 1
Eight Nexsen Pruet attorneys have been named among the top legal practitioners in their fields in the 2006-2007 edition of Chambers USA: America's Leading Business Lawyers, and three of the firm's practice areas were rated No. 1 in South Carolina.

The publication cited David Dubberly for his work in employment law; David Gossett for real estate; Mark Knight for corporate/mergers and acquisitions; Susi McWilliams for both employment and general commercial litigation; Ed Menzie for both corporate/mergers and acquisitions and real estate; Neil Robinson for real estate; and Tom Stephenson and Tom Tisdale for general commercial litigation.

All were named among the state's top three attorneys in their respective practice areas, and Menzie was ranked as the top corporate/mergers and acquisition lawyer. Each earned a spot in last year’s Chambers directory as well.

Also for the second consecutive year, the firm's corporate/mergers and acquisitions, real estate law, and general commercial litigation practices were ranked No. 1, while the employment and labor law practice was No. 2.

Gossett is based in the Greenville office, where he concentrates his practice in the economic development, real estate, and lending areas. He is regularly involved in financing some of the larger agribusinesses in the country and is a board member of the Upstate Alliance, a regional economic development group. He has represented new and expanding business in all phases of their projects in the Upstate of South Carolina.

Knight is based in the Columbia office and heads the firm's corporate practice group. He is listed in the corporate law and real estate Law sections of Best Lawyers in America, and is a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers. Since 1986, he has served on the Board of Directors of Burroughs & Chapin Company, Inc.

Robinson practices in the firm's Charleston office. He has broad experience in complex real estate transactions; administrative law, including permitting, zoning and land sales registrations; community association and condominium law; and commercial and resort real estate development. Christopher Kent Joins Fraser Milner Casgrain Partnership to Head its International Trade Practice Group

Perkins Coie Partner to Receive Prestigious Burton Award
Perkins Coie proudly announces that Seattle Partner Jerry Riedinger will be honored as a recipient of the prestigious Burton Award at a black-tie reception at the Library of Congress on June 12.
