Managing Partner, J. William Roberts Honored by Illinois State Bar Association
Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP’s Managing Partner, J. William Roberts, has been selected by the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA) as a 2006 recipient of its prestigious Board of Governors Award for significant service to the legal profession and the public.

Mr. Roberts has a long history with the ISBA. For eight years he was a member of the ISBA Assembly, and he served on the Board of Governors from 1994 to 1999. He was a founding member of the Board of Regents of the ISBA Academy of Illinois Lawyers, and served as its chancellor for one year. In addition, from 1993 to 1999 he chaired the Special Committee on Implementation of Lobbying Issues, and in 1998 was also the chair of the Special Committee on Legislative Procedures.

Mr. Roberts serves on the ISBA’s Joint Committee on Judicial Compensation, and the Special Committee on the Future of the Courts. He is also counsel to the ISBA on issues pertaining to the unauthorized practice of law.

In addition to serving as Hinshaw’s Managing Partner, Mr. Roberts is the partner-in-charge of Hinshaw’s Springfield, Illinois, office and chair of the firm’s national Business Litigation Practice Group.

Mr. Roberts’ career has been dedicated to public service through several prominent positions in various levels of government. He served as Chief Legal Counsel to Illinois Governor Jim Edgar from 1995 to 1997. As the primary legal adviser for the governor, he managed a large portfolio of litigation, and acted as liaison with the general counsel of executive branch departments, boards and commissions. He also had responsibility for numerous Illinois regulatory agencies, including the Illinois Gaming Board, Environmental Protection Agency, and the Departments of Public Health and Professional Regulation.

Mr. Roberts served as United States Attorney for the Central District of Illinois from 1986 to 1993. During that time, he was director of the Banca Nazionale del lavoro (BNL) Task Force, a complex inter-agency investigation of criminal conduct related to $5.5 billion in loans made by the Atlanta branch of an Italian bank to Iraq before the 1991 Persian Gulf War. In 1992 Mr. Roberts also served as Chairman of the U.S. Attorney General’s Advisory Committee of United States Attorneys and as a Senior Advisor to the Attorney General in Washington D.C. Prior to becoming United States Attorney for the Central District of Illinois, he was State’s Attorney of Sangamon County.

Robert C. Webb Elected Chairman of the Kentucky Bar Assocation Taxation Section
(Louisville, KY) Robert C. Webb has been elected by the Kentucky Bar Association to be the 2006-2007 Chairman of the Taxation Section. The purpose of the KBA Taxation Section is to promote the objectives of the Kentucky Bar Association within the field of taxation.

Robert C. Webb is chairman of the Frost Brown Todd's white collar group and is co-chair of the firm's tax group. His practice consists largely of representing individuals and corporations in criminal tax fraud and white collar matters. He has led the defense of federal and state criminal offenses at the investigatory, grand jury and trial levels in such areas as criminal tax fraud, mail and wire fraud, interstate transportation of stolen goods, criminal and civil RICO, health care fraud, criminal antitrust, money laundering, gambling and environmental matters.

For example, he has successfully represented a former Commonwealth of Kentucky Government Official in a major tax fraud and mail fraud trial in Bowling Green , Kentucky , as well as, executives in a healthcare fraud and grand jury investigation. He has conducted internal investigations for public companies and has extensive experience in counseling clients on voluntary disclosure issues. He worked at the Department of Justice in Washington , D.C. in the Civil Tax Litigation Division and was a professor at Bellarmine College where he taught Federal Taxation of Entities.

He has authored numerous articles regarding criminal tax and white collar matters. He authored the Criminal Tax Practice Monograph for the University of Kentucky College of Law. Mr. Webb has a Masters of Laws in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. Mr. Webb regularly represents clients in white collar criminal cases involving various types of commercial frauds, and also represents taxpayers in the U.S. Tax Court, U.S. District Court and the Kentucky Board of Tax Appeals.

The Firm is consistently ranked in The National Law Journal's NLJ 250, and the first regionally based firm to make the AmLaw 200 list of highest grossing firms. Florida Super Lawyers Names 44 Fowler White Boggs Banker Lawyers - Five Receive Top Honors
Forty-four Fowler White Boggs Banker’s lawyers have been named to the Florida Super Lawyers 2006. Five of those have been recognized in their top honors category. Rhea Law, president and CEO of Fowler White Boggs Banker, was listed among the top 50 female Florida Super Lawyers. Ms. Law was also recognized in the area of environmental law. John W. Robinson, IV, secretary/treasurer of the firm’s Board of Directors, was named one of the top 10 Florida Super Lawyers. Cathy J. Beveridge, E. Jackson Boggs and Linda Loomis Shelley were listed among the top 100 Florida Super Lawyers.

J. Michael Bernard, who is the director of the Business Services Department and the leader of the Corporate Finance Practice Group, ranked as a leader in the Corporate/M&A area. Mr. Bernard’s practice focuses primarily on business planning, general corporate and securities matters, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, financing transactions, corporate formation matters for emerging businesses, and public company securities compliance and corporate governance. Margaret Adams Hunter ranked as a leader in the Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation area. Ms. Hunter is the leader of Dykema’s Employee Benefits practice group. She focuses on the design, implementation and administration of pension plans, welfare plans, fringe benefit plans, stock compensation plans and executive compensation arrangements for publicly owned, nonprofit and governmental employers. She also works with benefit plan issues in the M&A context; and counsels clients regarding voluntary and involuntary compliance programs sponsored by the Internal Revenue Service and Department of Labor. Ms. Hunter is a resident of Bingham Farms.

Aleksandra A. Miziolek ranked as a leader in the Corporate/M&A area. Ms. Miziolek currently serves on Dykema’s Executive Board. She has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions of public and privately held companies in the automotive, building supply, and transportation industries, among others. She has also counseled public clients in areas such as corporate governance and social responsibility and has represented a number of privately held companies in connection with general corporate matters, secured and unsecured financings and joint ventures and other strategic alliances. Ms. Miziolek has served as Chairperson and Council Member of the Business Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan. She is a native Detroiter and currently resides in Grosse Pointe Park.

Cameron H. Piggott ranked as a leader in the Real Estate area. Mr. Piggott is Department Director of the Real Estate and Environmental Department and Practice Group Leader of the Real Estate Practice Group. He practices general real estate law, with an emphasis on commercial and residential development, leasing, construction, public/private projects, master planned communities, complex real estate transactions and eminent domain. Lloyd A. Semple is a Senior Statesman in the Corporate/M&A area. Mr. Semple has practiced general corporate law, including acquisitions, divestitures, mergers and financings for more than forty years. Most recently he has been advising boards of directors of public companies (and special committees thereof) in recapitalization transactions and governance matters. Mr. Semple has been active in politics and has considerable experience in dealing with governmental agencies and regulators. From 1997 through 2001 Mr. Semple, as Chairman of the Board of The Detroit Medical Center, directed and was responsible for the reorganization and financial turn-around of one of the country's largest health care systems. A resident of Grosse Pointe Farms, Mr. Semple was Chairman and CEO of Dykema Gossett from September, 1995 through April, 2002.

Alan York Elected to Executive Committee
