Five Florida-Based Quarles & Brady LLP Attorneys Named As Florida Super Lawyer 2006
The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP is pleased to announce that five of its Florida-based attorneys have been selected as Florida Super Lawyers by Law & Politics.

Each year Law & Politics complies surveys from attorneys across Florida asking them to vote for the best lawyers they have personally observed in action. The process for selection includes peer nominations, review by a blue ribbon panel, research and then a final selection process. Only five percent of Florida attorneys are bestowed the honor of being named a 2006 Florida Super Lawyer.

Porter Wright Attorney Named President of Cleveland Bar Association
Hugh E. McKay, a partner with the law firm of Porter Wright Morris & Arthur LLP, was announced as the Cleveland Bar Association's 96th president at the association's annual meeting on June 15, 2006. McKay's involvement with the association began nearly 20 years ago, when he chaired the Young Lawyers section. Subsequent activities with the CBA included the following:

Serving on the Board of Trustees
Chairing the 1998 Nominating Committee
Cochairing the Eighth District Judicial Conference in 1999 and 2003
Working to develop a program whereby lawyers would visit Cleveland Public Schools to discuss careers in law
Serving as faculty for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy
Speaking at, chairing, or serving on various panels and CBA seminars
Serving on the Board of Trustees of the Bar Foundation for the past four years

Mr. McKay, a litigation attorney, is Partner-in-Charge of Porter Wright's Cleveland office. He represents corporate clients and financial institutions in complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts. He has successfully represented several Fortune 500 companies in major litigation. On top of his work in the legal arena, Mr. McKay actively participates on the Executive Committee and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Cleveland Chapter of the American Red Cross, on the Board of Trustees of the National Conference for Community and Justice, and on the Visiting Committee of the Cleveland-Marshall School of Law.

Orrick Partner Named One of Top Asian Americans in Business
George Wang, a corporate partner in Orrick's New York office, will be recognized as an outstanding Asian entrepreneur and winner of the “2006 Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business"" award at an awards dinner on June 16. The program, which is sponsored by the Asian American Business Development Center, highlights the most successful Asian businessmen and businesswomen of the year for their contributions to their community and workplaces.

“I am delighted and honored to receive this prestigious award,” said Mr. Wang. “The award not only recognizes my personal achievement as a businessman in the Asian community, but it also recognizes that Asian Americans, with their multicultural background and entrepreneurial talents, could play a key role in helping American companies stay competitive in the world market.""

The award also recognizes that Asian American entrepreneurs and business executives are having a broader platform for them to perform in the globalization of business and trade, especially as economies in Asia are developing faster than countries in Europe and the United States.

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton will be the keynote speaker at the dinner. The organization, which promotes the accomplishments of Asian Americans and strengthen their voice and role in the mainstream. has organized the Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business award since 2001.

Finance and Real Estate Lawyer Sean H. Porter Joins Dechert LLP
Dechert LLP announced today that Sean H. Porter has joined the firm as a partner in its finance and real estate practice. He is based in the New York office. Previously, Porter was counsel at King & Spalding LLP.

Porter focuses on the private equity aspects of commercial real estate, with an emphasis on joint venture arrangements, U.S. investments for Middle East clients in Islamic Shari'ah-compliant structures and German closed-end real estate funds, mortgage and mezzanine financing, real estate fund formation and real estate mergers and acquisitions. He has represented a wide array of investment banks, insurance companies, U.S. and German real estate companies and funds and Middle Eastern banks in a broad range of real estate and corporate finance transactions.

""Sean has significant private equity real estate experience in support of corporate transactions,"" said John J. Gillies, a partner and member of the executive committee of Dechert's finance and real estate practice. ""His combined experience in corporate finance and real estate are valuable assets to the firm, and we are confident that he will be a solid contributor to the build out of the FRE group's equity practice.""

LEADING ANTITRUST LAWYER JOINS LATHAM & WATKINS IN EUROPE
Latham & Watkins LLP1 is pleased to announce that Gaby Eickstädt will join the firm effective July 15, 2006 as of counsel in the firm's European Antitrust and Competition Practice Group. Eickstädt, who initially will split her time between the firm's Brussels and German offices, strengthens the competition law team in Europe.

Eickstädt joins Latham & Watkins from Ashurst in Frankfurt, where she served as head of the German competition practice. She specialises in European and German competition law and has a strong track record providing legal and economic analysis spanning a range of competition law issues. Prior to joining Ashurst, Eickstädt was a member of the German Federal Cartel Office, where she focussed on Merger Control, Abusive Practices, and Cartel Prosecution.

Eickstädt joins Latham's European Antitrust and Competition Practice which comprises 25 lawyers, including 9 partners, offering a full range of competition law litigation and counseling expertise at both the EC and member state levels. The European competition team brings together comprehensive experience in the major courts and tribunals and offers wide-ranging expertise in merger clearance, cartel defence, ""dominant firm"" issues and State aid, as well as substantial court experience.

Andreas Weitbrecht, Global Co-Chair of Latham's Antitrust and Competition Practice Group, said: ""Gaby's arrival is an important step in the firm's growth strategy to build one of the pre-eminent European competition practices. Kennedy Covington Partner Receives \"40 Under 40\" Award
Kennedy Covington, one of the largest law firms in the Carolinas, is pleased to announce that partner Amy Pritchard Williams has been honored for her outstanding leadership with the Charlotte Business Journal's ""40 Under 40"" award .

As a partner in Kennedy Covington's litigation department since 2000, Williams has developed a successful financial services practice. She regularly represents financial institutions in complex commercial and consumer class action cases in both state and federal court. In addition, Williams served on the firm's Diversity Committee Task Force and currently serves as her department's Associates and Paralegals Partner and as an active member of the firm's Recruiting Committee.

In the community, Williams serves on the Board of Directors of the Mental Health Association of the Central Carolinas, Inc. and is a member of the public policy committee.
