Robert L. Crowell, senior partner of Crowell, Susich, Tackes & Griffin, Ltd., and Michael J. Bonner, managing partner of the statewide law firm Kummer Kaempfer Bonner Renshaw & Ferrario (Kummer Kaempfer), have announced that the firms will join forces on June 30, 2006. Crowell, Susich, Tackes & Griffin, Ltd. is a full-service Carson City law firm that has been practicing in Nevada for more than 50 years and will provide Kummer Kaempfer with a Carson City office to augment its Las Vegas and Reno offices. Robert Crowell will co-chair Kummer Kaempfer’s growing government relations practice and join the firm’s Executive Committee.

“We are pleased to welcome some of the most talented and respected attorneys in the state to Kummer Kaempfer,” said Bonner. “Our clients will have the benefits of an increased presence in Carson City and the added expertise of six attorneys who share our philosophy of meeting our clients’ needs with a high degree of trust, competency and integrity.”

Crowell, Susich, Tackes & Griffin, Ltd. has a rich history dating back to 1937 when the firm’s founder, William J. Crowell, Sr. began practicing law in Tonopah, Nev. The firm relocated to Carson City in the mid 1950s and soon welcomed Crowell’s sons – William Jr. and Robert. Thomas Susich, Steve Tackes and Gary Owen, deceased, later joined the firm.

Throughout the years, the firm has represented a diverse range of clients such as Anheuser-Busch, 7-Eleven, Las Vegas-Clark County Library District, Board of Optometry, Sierra Pacific Resources, Nevada Power Company, Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad, Southern California Edison Company and the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency.

“I’ve known Robert for many years and have worked with him on a number of issues important to the region and the state of Nevada,” said Mark Amodei, supervising partner of the Reno office. “I look forward to working together to help grow our firm’s practice and better serve our clients.”

Today, the Carson City-based firm’s six highly experienced lawyers practice in the areas of telecommunications, public utilities, computer and technology, aviation, general civil litigation, insurance law and regulation, corporate and business, estate planning, gaming and real estate law. Members of the firm also provide government relations services and lobby before the state Legislature on behalf of a number of clients and organizations. The attorneys will continue to work from their Carson City office on West Fourth Street. After the combination is complete on June 30, Kummer Kaempfer will have 55 attorneys in four offices statewide. The attorneys joining Kummer Kaempfer are:
