Carlton Fields Shareholder, Robert N. Gilbert, Named Bankruptcy and Creditors\' Rights Practice Group Leader
Carlton Fields West Palm Beach Shareholder, Robert N. Gilbert , has been named the firm's Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights Practice Group Leader.

Gilbert has 26 years of experience in bankruptcy and creditors’ rights law, including the representation of creditors, landlords, franchisors, creditors committees, trustees, and debtors. A significant portion of his practice is also devoted to out-of-court workouts, compositions, and assignments for the benefit of creditors. He has had substantial experience in general commercial litigation matters in state and federal courts, including matters involving commercial paper, secured lending and letters of credit. Gilbert received his B.A. in Economics and History, magna cum laude, from Alma College in 1977 and his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law in 1980. Gilbert is a member of The Florida Bar, The American Bankruptcy Institute, and is a past president of the Bankruptcy Bar Association for the Southern District of Florida.

BC Attorney Elected Fellow of College of Labor and Employment Lawyers
Bryan Cave LLP Partner Elaine Koch has been elected a Fellow of The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. Election as a Fellow is considered the highest recognition by one’s colleagues of sustained outstanding performance in the profession, exemplifying integrity, dedication and excellence.

Koch, who works out of the firm’s Kansas City office, is a member of Bryan Cave’s Labor & Employment and Commercial Litigation Client Service Groups. Her practice focuses primarily on employment litigation, civil rights litigation, ERISA litigation and business torts. She has tried numerous jury and bench trials in both federal and state courts, and she has handled many arbitration hearings.

Koch is a national speaker on litigation techniques and employment law issues. She is an active member of the American Bar Association Labor Section, having served as national co-chair of the EEO Basics program and speaking at national meetings. Koch earned the David Dixon Award in 1992 for outstanding achievement in appellate advocacy, the KCMBA President’s Award in 1993 for founding an internship program for inner city youth and the Honorable H. Michael Coburn Community Service Award by Legal Aid of Western Missouri in 1997. She has been named repeatedly by the Business Journal as one of the Best of The Bar in the Kansas City area, and recently was named a “Super Lawyer” in Kansas and Missouri. Koch is admitted to practice in Texas, Missouri and Kansas.

Three other Bryan Cave lawyers are Fellows of The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers: St. Louis Partners Dennis Donnelly and Jerry Hunter, and Santa Monica Of Counsel Harry Stang.

Perkins Coie Ranked Top Firm by Corporate Board Member
Perkins Coie proudly announces that once again it has been ranked among the top five corporate law firms in the Seattle and Portland markets by Corporate Board Member magazine.

The annual study identifies the top 20 national corporate law firms and the top five corporate law firms in 25 major metropolitan areas. The results are based on surveys of directors serving on boards of publicly traded companies listed with the NASDAQ, New York or American Stock Exchanges. The respondents were asked to select the five local law firms they would most likely choose to aid their companies on a broad range of corporate legal issues. In Seattle, the firm was ranked as #1 for the fourth consecutive year. In Portland, it was ranked as #4.

Bill Lewis and Fred Johs Named to New York Magazine\'s Best Lawyers List Second Year in a Row
William J. Lewis and Frederick C. Johs, two of the founding partners of Lewis Johs Avallone Aviles, LLP, were recently included in New York Magazine's list of ""The New York Area's Best Lawyers."" In its August 1, 2006 issue, the magazine, under the subheading ""The Definitive Directory for Hiring a Lawyer in New York, New Jersey & Connecticut,"" cited Messrs. Lewis and Johs for their outstanding service.

Mr. Lewis, who heads the firm's New York City office, represents clients in high exposure medical malpractice and complex personal injury cases. Mr. Lewis has appeared on television, lectured to legal groups and written for legal publications.

Mr. Johs, a member for the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel and the Defense Research Institute, also represents clients in high exposure personal injury and medical malpractice actions.
