Eve Masinter and Bryce Murray Elected to Positions with LSBA's Labor and Employment Section
McGlinchey labor and employment attorneys, Eve B. Masinter and Bryce G. Murray, were recently elected to new positions with the Louisiana State Bar Association (LSBA) at the Annual Labor and Employment Section meeting during the Louisiana State Bar Convention.

Masinter attended the House of Delegates meeting as the Labor and Employment Section representative and later was elected Chair of the LSBA Labor and Employment Section. She was also recognized as an Access to Justice Pro Bono Hero.

Also at the Louisiana State Bar Association Convention, Bryce Murray was elected as a Labor and Employment Section Council Member.

Bernard Jones, Richard Miller Join McAfee & Taft
McAfee & Taft, Oklahoma’s largest law firm, has announced that Bernard M. Jones and Richard G. Miller have joined the firm as its newest associates.

Bernard M. Jones is a trial lawyer whose practice is focused on the areas of labor and employment, family law and products liability litigation.

Prior to joining McAfee & Taft, the Oklahoma City native was a litigation associate in the Columbus, OH, office of Porter Wright Morris & Arthur LLP. His experience includes general civil litigation, as well as cases involving environmental issues and family law.

Jones holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Southern Methodist University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Notre Dame. While in law school, Jones was a Notre Dame Law Fellow, served as president of the Black Law Students Association, and was a member of the Notre Dame moot court trial team. As an undergraduate at SMU, he served as president of the student body and was the recipient of the university’s prestigious “M” Award and John L. Freehafer Memorial Award.

Richard G. Miller concentrates his practice in all aspects of intellectual property law, including trademarks, copyrights, patents, software and computer law, unfair competition and trade secrets.

In addition to being a recent honors graduate from the Oklahoma City University School of Law, the Midwest City native holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical aerospace engineering from Oklahoma State University and a master’s degree in engineering management from the University of Dayton.

Prior to embarking on a legal career, Miller served on active duty as an officer in the U.S. Air Force for 21 years. During the course of his military career, the retired major was involved in researching, developing and testing cutting-edge high-energy lasers and optics and overseeing the complex developmental and operational test design and analysis of Air Force weapons and aircraft platforms. His extensive engineering credits include serving as chief engineer on a $5.2 billion F-16 fighter foreign variant, leading development on new avionics and software for the F-16 fighter, developing and integrating new mechanical and avionics systems for the B-1 bomber, and developing and operating full-scale and sub-scale drone aircraft.

Two Prominent Intellectual Property Attorneys, Michael Bondi and Norman Abramson, Join Gray Plant Mooty Law Firm

He brings extensive trademark and management experience to GPM, having chaired the trademark department at his previous firm. Bondi’s practice focuses on the preparation and prosecution of U.S. and foreign patent and trademark applications. He has substantial experience in the areas of plastic formulation and processing, food processing and packaging, agricultural fertilizers and feed, laser processing devices, medical devices, and sporting equipment. Graham & Dunn Honors Garfield High School Senior with Scholarship
Graham & Dunn has chosen a senior at Garfield High School as the recipient of the 2006 Graham & Dunn scholarship award. Each year Graham & Dunn awards the scholarship to an inner-city high school student who exemplifies leadership, scholastic aptitude and commitment to the community. Abbas Abdulqadir is this year's recipient.

The Graham & Dunn Scholarship Fund was established in 1994 to honor deceased members of the firm by enhancing the opportunity for others to realize their full scholastic and professional potential. Each year, the Graham & Dunn scholarship committee awards one or two scholarships to financially challenged high school seniors enrolling in accredited colleges or universities.

Gentry Locke Adds New Commercial Litigator!
James J. (“Jay”) O’Keeffe has joined Gentry Locke Rakes & Moore, LLP in Roanoke, Virginia as an associate and will practice with the Firm’s commercial litigation group. Since completing law school and before joining the Firm, Mr. O’Keeffe had worked for Skadden, Arps in the Corporate and Litigation practice groups of its Washington, D.C. office.

Mr. O’Keeffe is currently admitted to practice in Virginia and the District of Columbia. He earned his Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School in 2002, cum laude, and his undergraduate degree from the College of William & Mary in 1999, magna cum laude.
