Attorney Robert E. Grossman Joins Duane Morris in New York
Duane Morris is pleased to welcome Robert E. Grossman, former chair of the Bankruptcy and Financial Restructuring Group at Arent Fox, as a partner in its New York office. Bob's move to the Duane Morris Corporate Practice Group marks the fifth addition to Duane Morris' New York office since the beginning of 2006 and signals the firm's continued commitment to growing that office and its Corporate Practice Group.

In connection with its commitment to its New York presence, Duane Morris recently announced that it has signed a long-term lease at 1540 Broadway, greatly expanding its presence in New York.

Bob will implement a novel practice model at Duane Morris. Drawing on his in-depth experience in the bankruptcy world, a significant part of Bob's law practice will focus on providing advice to companies, including troubled or newly restructured companies, and investors, with respect to the financing needs of such companies. In addition, Bob will serve as a resource to the Duane Morris Business Reorganization and Financial Restructuring Practice Group.

Firm Chairman Sheldon Bonovitz, who is now resident part-time in New York, is enthusiastic about the addition of Bob to the firm, and noted that his practice in both the corporate and restructuring areas will provide Duane Morris with an extremely valuable skill set.

At his previous firms, where he focused his practice on complex bankruptcy and creditors' rights litigation, Bob has represented clients in matters of financial restructuring and the transfer of assets in bankruptcy court. Experienced in the intricacies of bankruptcy and restructuring matters across a wide range of industries, including real estate and healthcare, Bob represents borrowers, secured creditors, landlords and owners across the United States. Before entering private practice, he served at the Securities and Exchange Commission in the Division of Enforcement in a group associated with the Division of Corporate Finance. After leaving the SEC, Bob founded and served as general counsel to a large financial services company that focused on acquiring and operating distressed assets.

A member of the board of directors and president-elect of the Brooklyn Law School Alumni Association, Bob frequently lectures on matters of bankruptcy law and complex international restructuring, and co-chairs the school's Zaretsky Bankruptcy Symposium. Bob was also recently appointed vice chair of the International Secured Transactions and Insolvency Committee of the American Bar Association Section of International Law.

A graduate of Rider University, he earned his J.D. in 1973 from Brooklyn Law School.
