The law firm of Norris McLaughlin & Marcus, P.A., headquartered in Somerville, New Jersey, is pleased to announce, effective as of June of 2006, that member John N. Vanarthos has joined the Board of Trustees for the Court Appointed Special Advocates of Somerset, Hunterdon and Warren Counties (CASA of SHaW). CASA is a national organization with local CASA programs serving children in all 50 states. CASA of NJ began as an independent non-profit corporation in 2000 and was created to address the need for expansion of CASA beyond the three original programs. CASA of NJ was developed by a coalition of stakeholders, Judges and representatives from individual family courts and existing CASA programs. Since the establishment of CASA of NJ, its members have developed programs serving children in 10 additional counties, the goal being to develop CASA in all 21 New Jersey counties within the next three years. In addition to expanding the CASA model in all jurisdictions, CASA of NJ provides a forum for local CASA programs to share resources, improve their programs, and unify CASA’s voice on behalf of children in placement.

Over the years, Vanarthos has represented a number of individual entrepreneurs and startup companies. He has strategically guided them from idea conception to exit strategy, solving their legal problems along the way.
