Stradley Ronon Partner Appointed President of The Federal Circuit Bar Association
Stradley Ronon partner and Intellectual Property (IP) Group Chair Kevin R. Casey was recently appointed president of the Federal Circuit Bar Association (FCBA) at the association’s Eighth Bench and Bar Conference. From left: Casey receives the gavel of the FCBA from Immediate Past President Martha Schneider.

The association fosters a partnership between the circuit judges of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the members of the legal community who practice in the areas that comprise the court’s jurisdiction, including natural resource protection, international trade and commerce, tax and intellectual property. Among the association’s nearly 3,000 members are lawyers from private law firms, major corporations and the government; judges on tribunals within the court’s jurisdiction; and the circuit judges themselves.

Teresa Pearson Joins Three Other Miller Nash Partners In National Certification In Bankruptcy Law
The American Board of Certification (ABC) announced that Miller Nash attorney Teresa Pearson has received national certification in business bankruptcy law. She joins fellow partners David W. Hercher and John Casey Mills of the Portland office and Geoffrey Groshong of the Seattle office in this prestigious designation. Miller Nash has more board-certified business bankruptcy attorneys than any other law firm in Oregon or Washington.

The ABC, a nonprofit organization cosponsored by the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Commercial Law League of America, is accredited by the American Bar Association.

“Given the fact that fewer than 30 attorneys in Oregon and Washington combined have received business bankruptcy certification from the ABC, we’re proud to count four Miller Nash attorneys in the ranks of this elite group of specialists,” said Steve Horenstein, chairman of Miller Nash’s business department. “Having Teresa join Casey, Dave, and Geoff in this certification status solidifies our ability to serve clients with complex bankruptcy and creditors’ rights needs throughout the region.”

The ABC is dedicated to serving the public and improving the quality of the bankruptcy and creditors’ rights bar. Rigorous certification standards are designed to encourage practitioners to strive toward excellence and to recognize those attorneys who are experts in the bankruptcy and creditors’ rights fields.

As one of the largest multispecialty law firms in the Pacific Northwest, Miller Nash focuses on business law and commercial litigation, serving clients locally and worldwide from its offices in Portland, Oregon, and Seattle and Vancouver, Washington.

The Supreme Court of Washington does not recognize certifications of specialties in the practice of law, and this certification is not a requirement to practice law in the state of Washington.
