Civic Leader and Former Chairman and CEO of Bank Calumet Cal Bellamy Joins the Law Firm of Krieg DeVault LLP
The law firm of Krieg DeVault LLP is pleased to announce that Calvin Bellamy, the long-time Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Bank Calumet, will join the firm as a partner.

Mr. Bellamy, who is a licensed attorney in both Indiana and Illinois, will join the Hammond office of the firm on August 1, 2006. Mr. Bellamy’s primary responsibility will be to assist the firm in continuing its growth in terms of clients and attorneys in Northwest Indiana. He also will devote time to practicing law and will be a member of the firm’s Estate Planning, Financial Institutions and Business Practice Groups.

“We are delighted to have a person of Cal’s stature join our firm as a partner. We look forward to utilizing Cal’s legal and CEO experience as we continue our vision and growth in our Northwest Indiana office. One of our strategies has been to grow our presence in Northwest Indiana, and this began when the former Galvin, Galvin and Leeny firm joined Krieg DeVault in 2003. We felt that Northwest Indiana was important enough to our firm to have Nick Chulos, a 20-year banking and corporate attorney with us, become the Executive Partner in our Hammond office. Cal is a perfect addition as we consider other opportunities to grow our practice in this part of the state. Cal also has been and continues to be very active in the community, which complements our firm’s belief in giving back to the communities in which our clients live and work. We are excited about the prospects of having Cal with us,” said Michael E. Williams, Managing Partner of Krieg DeVault.

Calvin Bellamy, a life-long resident of Northwest Indiana, added, “I am very pleased to be joining a firm with the depth and professionalism of Krieg DeVault. They enjoy an undisputed reputation for quality client service and community commitment. From my point of view, this is a perfect fit.”

Mr. Bellamy received a Bachelor of Arts degree with highest distinction from Indiana University and his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School where he was inducted into the Order of the Coif.

Krieg DeVault LLP is a law firm with 120 professionals representing a wide variety of local, regional and national clients. It is a general practice law firm with practice areas in corporate, banking, health care, and estate planning, probate, tax, litigation, environmental, intellectual property, and public finance, municipal and governmental affairs, among others. The firm has offices in Indianapolis, Carmel and Hammond, Indiana. Through its membership in Meritas, the firm’s ability to assist clients reaches around the world. Jones Day Leads Infrastructure League Tables
Jones Day ranked #1 as Western European Legal Advisor in infrastructure projects in the first half of 2006, advising on three deals worth over $10.3 billion. Jones Day also ranked #4 as Global Legal Advisor for infrastructure projects with over $12 billion in six infrastructure deals.

The research, compiled by the Infrastructure Journal website, ranks the involvement of law firms based on the total value of deals that have reached financial close. Worldwide, 103 law firms closed deals with a total market value of $196 billion. Jones Day had a 16.35% market share in Western Europe and a 6.16% market share globally.

Jones Day's significant ranking is based largely on its work securing syndicated financing for the successful consortium bid by Abertis, the Spanish infrastructure and transportation management company, to acquire the French toll road company, SANEF (Société des Autoroutes du Nord et de l'Est de la France), the transaction that was ranked the largest global finance deal year-to-date.
