Barbara A. VanZanten Elected to Volunteer Accounting Service Team of Michigan Board of Directors
Clark Hill attorney Barbara A. VanZanten has been elected to the Volunteer Accounting Service Team of Michigan Board of Directors (formerly Accounting Aid Society), effective immediately. VanZanten is a member in the firm’s Detroit office, where she is the practice group leader of the Labor and Employment Practice Group.

“I’m looking forward to serving the Volunteer Accounting Service Team of Michigan,” VanZanten said. “This is a noble organization with a strong history boasting 30 years of service to the community, and I am proud to be a part of this service tradition.”

VanZanten practices in the areas of employment litigation and counseling, Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP), immigration and appellate advocacy. She has extensive experience with employment contract litigation, wrongful discharge, sexual harassment, ADA and FMLA claims, and specializes in multi-plaintiff and class action matters.

In addition to the Volunteer Accounting Service Team of Michigan, VanZanten is involved with numerous professional and community organizations. She is currently a member of the Women’s Economic Club, and the Society of Human Resources Management, as well as the American Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan, Women Corporate Counsel Networking Group, and the Women Lawyers Association. VanZanten is a charter member of the Congress of Fellows of the Center for International Legal Studies.
VanZanten earned her B.A. from Madonna University, and her J.D. from the University of Detroit School of Law. She resides in South Lyon, MI.

Robinson & Cole Announces Return of Kevin J. Rasch to Firm
The law firm of Robinson & Cole is pleased to announce that Kevin J. Rasch has returned as counsel in the Public Finance and Business Practice Groups after two years serving as Chief Legal Counsel to Connecticut Governor, M. Jodi Rell.

Prior to joining the Governor’s Office in July 2004, Mr. Rasch was a lawyer at Robinson & Cole for six years. Kevin will resume representing public and quasi-public entities, and not-for-profit institutions in corporate and finance matters, including institutional financial arrangements, credit enhancement, and the issuance and sale of tax-exempt obligations.
