Nelson Mullins Staff Helps North Carolina Teachers with Contract Law
Candace Friel, a rising third-year law student at Wake Forest University and summer associate with the Nelson Mullins’ Winston-Salem office, and Nelson Mullins attorney Scott Templeton participated in the 2006 Career-Technical Education Summer Conference held by the N.C. State Board of Education and Department of Public Instruction. Mr. Templeton, also representing the N.C. Bar Association's Business Law Section and Lawyers In Schools programs, and Ms. Friel presented on “Contract Law: Basics and Hot Topics” to a gathering of high school business law teachers from across the state.

“This was a great opportunity to provide high school teachers with Attorney Scott Templetona review of contract law fundamentals and also talk with them regarding current topics such as ‘clickwrap’ and ‘browsewrap’ Internet agreements,” Mr. Templeton said.

The Bayard Firm Attorneys Selected as “Top Lawyers” in Delaware Today
In it's August 2006 issue, Delaware Today recognized four Bayard Firm attorneys as "Top Lawyers" in their respective fields in the state of Delaware. Of our attorneys, Douglas M. Hershman was selected in Real Estate Law, Curtis P. Bounds was selected in Family Law, Steven R. Director in Trust and Estates Law and Felice G. Kerr in Divorce Law. Selections were made based on a survey of members of the Delaware State Bar Association.

ABA Appointments for LR's Lisa Murphy
Lisa Murphy, partner in the Firm's Virginia Beach office, has been appointed the Chair of the Environmental Committee of the Land Use and Environmental Group of the ABA Section of Real Property, Probate and Trust Law. She has also been appointed to the ABA Section of Real Property, Probate and Trust Law's Technology Committee. Ms. Murphy is the Chair of LeClair Ryan's Real Estate Practice Group.
