FR XI has been formed to make privately negotiated equity and equity-related investments in the global energy industry. FR XI is the largest private equity fund ever formed to make investments in the energy industry.

Simpson Thacher Represents Lexington Partners in Establishing $3.5 Billion Secondary Fund
Simpson Thacher represented Lexington Partners in the establishment of Lexington Capital Partners VI, L.P. LCP VI is believed to be the largest secondary fund ever formed. The fund will seek to establish a portfolio of interests in established buyout, mezzanine and venture capital funds, primarily through secondary transactions.

Debra M. Levy, Michael A. Chernekoff and Robert T. Lemon, II Strengthen Jones Walker’s Houston Office
The law firm of Jones, Walker, Waechter, Poitevent, Carrère & Denègre, L.L.P. is pleased to announce that Debra M. Levy, Michael A. Chernekoff and Robert T. Lemon, II, have joined the firm’s Houston office. Chernekoff has expanded his practice to Houston and will co-office in New Orleans, serving clients where their needs arise. Lemon, previously with the firm’s New Orleans office, will continue to serve Gulf Coast clients’ needs from Houston, and will maintain an office in New Orleans.

Levy is a partner in the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group. Her practice focuses on real estate development and leasing, and on the acquisition, disposition, construction and financing of real estate projects including condominium regimes. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Marymount Manhattan College in New York and her Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from Tulane Law School. Michael A. Chernekoff joined the firm from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in 1982 and has been a partner in the firm’s New Orleans office since 1986. He is a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group and also is the Chair of the Environmental & Toxic Tort practice team. Chernekoff’s practice also includes energy, real estate and maritime law. He received his Juris Doctorate from George Washington University with honors, and his Bachelor of Arts from Tulane University. Robert T. Lemon, II joined the firm in 1980 and was elected to partnership in 1985, practicing as a member of the firm’s Admiralty and Maritime Practice Group.
