The event recognizes the accomplishments of the Marion County Bar Association (MCBA) of which Jimmie is president-elect. Kaye Scholer Represents Allied Capital Corporation in its Acquisition of Lettieri's, Inc.
Kaye Scholer represented Allied Capital Corporation in Hot Stuff Foods, LLC's acquisition of Lettieri's, Inc., a manufacturer of ready-made food products. Hot Stuff manufactures and distributes a broad line of branded food product solutions to more than 1,600 locations throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe and Asia. The Lettieri acquisition will increase the company's reach to more than 40,000 additional locations, strengthening Hot Stuff Food's long-term growth strategy and broadening its position in the "on-the-go" food category. The deal was closed on November 1, 2006.

The Kaye Scholer acquisition team was led by partners Mark S. Kingsley and Nancy Fuchs and associates Amanda Ferriso and Monica Shulman. The finance team included partner Ed Gabbay and associates Christopher B. Britton and Alan Glantz. Paul C. Llewellyn, partner, assisted on intellectual property matters.

Leading Corporate Lawyer Joins Hogan & Hartson in Paris
Hogan & Hartson LLP announced today that Jean-Baptiste de Cabanes has joined the firm’s Paris office where he will be Counsel in the firm’s corporate, securities, and finance practice group. De Cabanes will further develop the firm’s French corporate practice as well as its cross-border transactional work for French and multinational companies.

Most recently, de Cabanes was General Counsel of Groupe Caisse d’Epargne in Paris, with responsibility for the legal activities of the bank on a worldwide scale. Previously, he was General Counsel of Crédit Lyonnais in Paris, then the largest state-owned bank in France, acting as the bank’s senior lawyer for worldwide legal activities. He also has been a partner in the French law firm Barbé Carpentier Thibault Groener.

At Hogan & Hartson, de Cabanes will focus on French and international transactional matters, with a particular emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and capital raising transactions. He has significant experience in international negotiations related to acquisitions and partnerships, as well as matters involving securities laws and regulations and capital markets issues.

“Jean-Baptiste’s broad-based capabilities in corporate transactions, drawing upon his experience in private practice and his role as the chief legal officer of one of Europe’s largest banks, will be of great value to our clients,” said William J. Curtin, III, strategic development partner for the Paris office of Hogan & Hartson. “We are delighted to welcome Jean-Baptiste to our expanding corporate practice in Paris.”

Commenting on his move, de Cabanes said, “I am delighted to be joining Hogan & Hartson and the leading lawyers that constitute its Paris office, and I am looking forward to contributing to the firm’s continuing expansion in Paris. I am eager to become part of Hogan & Hartson’s commitment to offer French and multinational clients the highest quality of legal services in their business endeavors.”

De Cabanes joins Hervé Bidaud (tax), Michel Debroux (competition), Jean-Marc Franceschi (corporate), and Dominique Mendy and Thierry Meillat (employment), all recent high-profile additions to Hogan & Hartson’s growing Paris office. De Cabanes received his LL.M. from Cornell University and his DEA from Université Paris I. He received his MBA from Institut Supérieur du Commerce de Paris.
