Vogelpohl Joins Lewis and Roca LLP As Of Counsel
Lewis and Roca LLP is proud to announce that Dusty Vogelpohl has joined the firm as of counsel in the firm’s Intellectual Property practice group.

Vogelpohl’s practice involves counseling in patents, trademarks, internet issues, copyrights, trade secrets and business transactions. He has experience in preparing and prosecuting patents and trademarks; patent reexaminations; patent non-infringement opinions and related preliminary infringement evaluation; patentability and clearance search evaluation; patent agreements; and patent litigation and related counseling. Vogelpohl has technical experience in the following areas: medical devices, chemical compositions, pharmaceutical compositions and therapies, mining processes, mobile phone services, telecommunications, chemical reactors, mechanical devices, disc printing apparatus and environmental designs.

Prior to joining the firm, Vogelpohl was an associate with Greenberg Traurig LLP in Silicon Valley, California. Vogelpohl received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law (2002) and his B.S.E from Arizona State University (1999, cum laude).

Fischer and Rosenquest Co-Author "Cumis" Paper
Jones Walker partner Madeleine Fischer and associate John Rosenquest IV recently collaborated on a paper that Fischer presented at the American Bar Association Convention in San Francisco on August 11, 2007. The paper, entitled "Cumis Counsel Made Easy: An Overview of a Policyholder's Right to Independent Counsel at the Expense of the Insurer," addresses the complexities of the tripartite relationship between the insured, insurer, and insurance defense counsel.

Futrell to Speak at 13th Annual Bankruptcy Law Seminar
Jones Walker attorney Lisa Futrell has been invited to speak at Louisiana State University's 13th Annual Bankruptcy Law Seminar being held in the McKernan Law Auditorium October 25–26, 2007. Ms. Futrell will present Friday, October 26, on "The Sale of Property Under Section 363—How Far Can You Go—Sales Free and Clear, Preclusion of Successor Liability." The slate of speakers includes faculty, seven current and two former bankruptcy judges, and other experts speaking on the most pressing topics in the bankruptcy arena.

Howrey Expands Competition Practice To Madrid

Martínez Lage was founded in 1985 by Santiago Martínez Lage, who is its Managing Partner. The firm currently consists of eleven lawyers. The leading international professional directories ( Legal 500, Chambers and PLC) rank Martínez Lage in the top tier of Spanish Competition law firms and the latest edition of Chambers Global The World’s Leading Lawyers, published in 2006, defined it as "the best competition boutique by far".
