Health Care Attorney John S. Rah Joins Sonnenschein
Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP today announced that John S. Rah has joined the law firm as the newest member of its national Health Care Group. Rah, a partner who will reside in Sonnenschein’s Washington, D.C. office, counsels a wide range of providers, suppliers and pharmaceutical manufacturers in connection with Medicare and Medicaid fraud and abuse and other regulatory compliance initiatives, audits, investigations and litigation, including the negotiation of complex settlement and corporate integrity agreements.

“John is a gifted and nationally-recognized fraud and abuse lawyer,” notes Gadi Weinreich, national chair of Sonnenschein’s Health Care Group. “Firm clients will appreciate his incredible depth of experience and quickly benefit from his strategic thinking.”

SMITH HAUGHEY RICE & ROEGGE NAMES NEW SHAREHOLDERS
The law firm of Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge is pleased to announce that Cindy A. Boer, William L. Henn, and Kirk W. Morgan have been named as shareholders in the firm.

Cindy Boer practices in the area of medical malpractice defense. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Calvin College and her Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from Thomas M. Cooley Law School.

Bill Henn practices in the areas of appellate law, professional liability, and governmental law. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, from Central Michigan University and his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School.

Kirk Morgan practices in the areas of banking and finance, business and property, and health law. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan – Flint and his Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School.

Locke Liddell & Sapp Mourns the Loss of Respected Partner and Friend, C. Ronald Kalteyer
Locke Liddell & Sapp lost an extraordinary friend and partner when Ron Kalteyer died December 16 following a very short illness. He will forever be remembered as a devoted husband and father; a spiritual leader; and an outstanding and respected lawyer who helped clients solve the most difficult tax issues. We will miss Ron very much. We are grateful for the important role he played at our Firm and the impact he had on so many of us. Shareholder William J. Burnett Appointed to Board of thePhiladelphia Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association
William J. Burnett, shareholder in the Bankruptcy Practice Group at Flaster/Greenberg in Philadelphia, was recently appointed to the board of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) for a two year term effective January 1, 2007.

William J. BurnettBurnett will help oversee the Philadelphia chapter of 311 members. The TMA, the only international non-profit association dedicated to corporate renewal and turnaround management, has 7,500 members in 40 chapters. Its members include turnaround and corporate renewal professionals who are committed to strengthening and improving the economy through the restoration of corporate value.

Burnett concentrates his practice in bankruptcy, reorganizations, and workouts. His representations include financially distressed companies, Chapter 11 debtors-in possession, creditors' committees, trustees, plan administrators, creditors (secured and unsecured), landlords, equipment lessors, asset purchasers, and preference plaintiffs and defendants. He is admitted to practice in Delaware, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

Bell, Boyd Adds Noted Trusts and Estates Attorney, Eileen Trost
Noted Chicago estate planning attorney and former head of trust administration for Northern Trust Bank, Arizona, Eileen B. Trost, has joined Bell, Boyd & Lloyd's Estates and Trusts Group as a partner. Ms. Trost, who joins the firm from Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal, is highly regarded for her experience in advising corporate fiduciaries and high net worth clients on the tax and legal aspects of estate planning and administration.

Over a 25 year legal career, Ms. Trost has earned a reputation for her skill in tax and retirement planning and for her success in contested matters before the Internal Revenue Service and in the courts. She is sought after by corporate executives and professionals for her advice on taxation of distributions from qualified and non-qualified plans, as well as for her knowledge of sophisticated estate planning techniques. She has advised trustees on the tax law aspects of transactions involving trust-held securities in public tender offers, mergers and acquisitions, and she has advised the owners of closely-held businesses in their operation, valuation, sale, reorganization and succession. Businesses and individuals with international interests rely on her counsel to minimize U.S. estate, gift and generation-skipping taxes.

As Vice President and Head of Trust Administration for Northern Trust Bank of Arizona, Ms. Trost supervised the administration of some 2,000 corporate, institutional and personal trust accounts with values in excess of $2 billion.

Ms. Trost is a frequent speaker and published author on sophisticated estate planning techniques for numerous bar association and industry journals. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Chicago Estate Planning Council, as well on the planned giving advisory boards of the Goodman Theatre and the Lyric Opera of Chicago.

She received her undergraduate degree from Shimer College and is a cum laude graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Law.

ALLEN MATKINS APPOINTS ADAM STOCK AS DIRECTOR OF MARKETING AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Allen Matkins Leck Gamble Mallory & Natsis LLP, a leading California business and real estate law firm, announced the addition of Adam Stock, a business development executive and pioneer in legal sales with 20 years experience marketing, as its new Director of Marketing and Business Development.

He has over fifteen years experience as a senior sales and marketing executive in high technology companies. (EFII), and Liberate Technologies (LBRT). Prior to joining Dorsey & Whitney, he was president of Digital Business Consulting where he assisted multiple emerging companies in the Internet, enterprise, telecommunications and high technology industries in developing their sales and marketing strategies, and their IP portfolio strategies.

He is a Board Member of the Legal Sales and Service Organization, an educational and networking organization for legal sales and service professionals. He is also a co-founder of the Personal Broadband Industry Organization, a marketing and lobbying organization in the telecommunications industry.
