Thelen Reid Announces New London Office
U.S. law firms have been answering the London calling for years. Now, Thelen Reid Brown Raysman & Steiner has done the same.

The firm announced Wednesday that it will be opening a four-lawyer London office by year's end, marking its first foray into Europe.

Three Sheppard Mullin Partners Recognized as Rainmakers by Daily Journal
Sheppard Mullin Los Angeles-based partners Larry Braun, Joe Coyne and Richard Simmons were recognized as 2006 rainmakers by Daily Journal. The list of $10 million-generating California attorneys was published by the paper on Dec. 21.

Firm’s Partner Named to the 2007 BTI Client Service All-Star Team
Jan M. Conlin, a partner in the Minneapolis office of the national law firm of Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi L.L.P., has been named to the 2007 BTI Client Service All-Star Team.

According to BTI, the list is made up of an exclusive group of 113 attorneys from 93 law firms. This elite group has been singled out by corporate counsel, by name and unprompted, as delivering the absolute best client service. BTI interviewed more than 250 corporate counsel at large and Fortune 1000 companies.

This year’s members of The BTI Client Services All-Star Team are nominated by clients for leveraging their deep understanding of the client’s business and industry to deliver targeted strategic advice; superior use of clients’ time and resources; and for giving ultra-responsive and timely answers to clients’ most pressing needs.

Ms. Conlin’s practice focuses in the areas of intellectual property litigation, business trial and litigation, and crisis management for corporate directors and officers. She is a member of the firm’s Executive Board and co-chair of the Professional Development Committee.

Community-oriented employment attorney becomes principal
Ober|Kaler is pleased to announce that Neil E. Duke will become a principal of the firm, effective January 1, 2007.

Driven by a strong social conscience, Mr. Duke, 42, presently sits on the boards of the Baltimore Homeless Services, Inc., Govans Ecumenical Development Corp., and the Baltimore City Civilian Review Board. Past president of the Monumental City Bar Association and graduate of the Maryland State Bar Association Leadership Academy, he is an active member of numerous professional organizations including the Maryland State Bar Association Committee on Judicial Appointments.

A long-time adjunct faculty member of the University of Baltimore School of Law, Mr. Duke is a mentor for aspiring and young lawyers.

"Neil is a gifted lawyer," commented John Wolf, chairman of the firm. "He has great practical skills and is a first-rate trial lawyer. With his legal talent, strong sense of community service, and outstanding leadership skills, he represents the best of the next generation at Ober|Kaler."

Mr. Duke practices employment law from Ober|Kaler's Baltimore headquarters. He has been recognized with numerous awards and honoraries including the Baltimore Business Journal's 40 Under 40 award. Before joining the firm, Mr. Duke served as a Staff Investigator in the Office of the Federal Public Defender, District of Maryland. As a Special Agent and active-duty Air Force Captain stationed at Andrews Air Force Base, he managed anti-fraud efforts in the Metropolitan Washington, DC area.

Mr. Duke received his BA from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina in 1986 and his JD, cum laude, from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1998, where he served as Executive Editor of the Law Review and Captain of the National Moot Court and Student Trial Lawyer's Trial Teams.

Mr. Duke is a resident of Baltimore City.

Brad Klepper Named General Counsel of Oklahoma Board of Architects, Licensed Architects and Interior Designers
Attorney J. Bradley Klepper has been named general counsel for the Oklahoma Board of Architects, Licensed Architects and Interior Designers.

Established by the Oklahoma Legislature, the board is charged with protecting the citizens of Oklahoma by regulating and promoting quality practice in the professions of architecture, landscape architecture and interior design. In his role as general counsel, Klepper will be responsible for advising the board on all legal matters, including the prosecution of violations of the State Architectural Act.

Klepper is a licensed architect whose legal practice at McAfee & Taft is concentrated on construction law and intellectual property-related matters. Prior to embarking on a law career, he worked at the international architectural firm of Rees Associates, Inc.

Klepper serves as vice president and member of the board of directors for the Oklahoma City chapter of Rebuilding Together and is a member of the Oklahoma and American bar associations and the American Institute of Architects.

Six Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw Attorneys Rated in LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review
Six Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw attorneys have been named to the LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell annual Peer Review Ratings, which includes 114 attorneys across the United States and Canada.

The ratings listed three partners in Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw's Chicago office: Ronald Given in the Corporate and Securities Practice, Antitrust partner Diane Green-Kelly, and Jeffrey Sarles of the firm's Appellate group. Also listed were Houston partners Francis Bradley of the firm's Banking & Finance Practice and William Moss of the Corporate and Securities Practice and Washington, D.C. partner Peter White of the Securities Litigation group.
