Hetrick to Serve as 2007 VP-Membership of Baldwin County Society for Human Resource Management
Scott Hetrick, a partner in the Mobile office of Adams and Reese LLP, will serve as Vice-President of Membership for the Baldwin County Society for Human Resource Management Chapter for 2007. This organization is dedicated to providing resources and networking opportunities for Human Resources professionals in Baldwin County. The Baldwin County Chapter is one of more than 550 affiliated chapters worldwide.

Hetrick is a member of the Labor and Employment Practice Team in the Special Business Services Practice Group. His practice focuses on helping employers comply with federal and state labor and employment laws including the representation of private and public employers in lawsuits involving labor and employment claims advanced under most federal and state laws; representation of employers in all aspects of management-union relations; and representation of employers in administrative proceedings before state and federal agencies, including the EEOC, the OFCCP, the NLRB, OSHA, and the DOL Wage-Hour Administrator. Additionally, Hetrick drafts employment policies and procedures, employment applications, background check disclosure and consent agreements, employee handbooks, and employment contracts; prepares affirmative action plans for U.S. Government contractors; and counsels employers in all aspects of labor and employment law to help avoid claims arising from day-to-day employment decisions.

Hetrick often speaks on employment law and human resource management issues at seminars for personnel managers and business owners. He is a member of the Mobile County Chapter Society for Human Resource Management, and in 2005, he served as President of the Baldwin County Chapter of the Society for Human Resources Management. He is active with local, state, and national bar associations, serves on the Board of Directors of the Mobile County Volunteer Lawyers Program, and is an officer in the Knights of Columbus at St. Mary Catholic Church.

Richard H. C. Clay is Elected Chair of the Board of Governors of the J.B. Speed Art Museum
Woodward, Hobson & Fulton, L.L.P. announced today that Richard H. C. Clay, a partner in its Louisville office, has been elected Chair of the Board of Governors of the J. B. Speed Art Museum. Mr. Clay, a former President of the Kentucky Bar Association, practices in the areas of complex litigation, pharmaceutical and medical device litigation, appellate practice and administrative law. He is active in civic affairs, and currently serves as a trustee of the Norton Foundation, Inc. and Kentucky Country Day School. He is a former trustee of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Foundation, Inc. and the Southeastern Council of Foundations. He is also a graduate of Leadership Louisville and its Bingham Fellows Program.

Established in 1927, the Speed Art Museum is Kentucky’s oldest and largest art museum with over 12,000 pieces in its permanent collection. Its extensive collection spans 6,000 years, ranging from ancient Egyptian to contemporary art. Since completing a major $12 million renovation and expansion in 1997, the Speed has brought major exhibitions of photography, painting, design, and sculpture to the region to help fulfill its ambitious mission: bringing great art and people together. New Senior Associate, Daniel P. Cherry
Woodward, Hobson & Fulton, L.L.P. announced today that Daniel P. Cherry has joined the firm in its Louisville office. Dan’s primary areas of practice include litigation management, construction law, bankruptcy litigation, appellate practice and Uniform Commercial Code Articles 2, 3 and 4.

Dan spent several years in litigation practice at Greenebaum Doll & McDonald PLLC, where he served as lead counsel in bench and jury trials as well as arbitrations and mediations. He has litigated and negotiated many multi-faceted cases with emphasis on construction, business organizational and financial disputes, and is experienced in government regulation issues including cases involving the administrative processes of state and federal agencies.

Dan has argued before the Kentucky Supreme Court and the Kentucky Court of Appeals and has authored over 50 briefs to trial and appellate courts. He is the former Chairman of the KBA Construction and Public Contracting Law Section, served on the Attorney General’s Task Force for Older Kentuckians, is a certified Kentucky mediator and is an experienced public speaker and educator.

Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati Names Thirteen New Partners
Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, the premier provider of legal services to technology, life sciences, and growth enterprises worldwide, today announced that it has elected 13 new partners. The appointments are effective February 1, 2007.

"This year's group of new partners is indicative of the firm's growing national presence, from Washington, D.C., to Seattle, as we continue to strengthen key practice areas," said John Roos, chief executive officer. The new partners are:

Scott Anthony, Corporate & Securities. Based in Palo Alto, Anthony received his J.D. from the Boston University School of Law in 1996. Specializing in mergers and acquisitions, he also is experienced in a broad range of general corporate and transactional matters and is an active member of the firm's China practice.

Jon Avina, Corporate & Securities. Based in Palo Alto, Avina received his J.D. from Stanford Law School in 1997. He assists private and public companies in transactions such as venture capital financings, public offerings, and mergers and acquisitions, and also represents a variety of venture capital and investment banking firms.

Lawrence Chu, Corporate & Securities. Based in San Francisco, Chu received his LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1998. He represents domestic and foreign companies in mergers and acquisitions and finance transactions across many industries, in addition to serving numerous private equity funds and banking clients. Chu recently joined the firm from Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York and London, and will relocate to Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati's New York office next year.

Mark Fitzgerald, Corporate & Securities. Based in Reston/D.C., Fitzgerald received his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 1996. His practice focuses on the representation of technology clients in connection with mergers and acquisitions, as well as assisting clients with such matters as early-stage venture financing and complex cross-border transactions.

Parag Gheewala, Intellectual Property. Based in Seattle, Gheewala received his J.D. from the New York University School of Law in 1997. He has experience with a wide variety of domestic and international transactions involving technology and intellectual property, including joint ventures, strategic alliances, and product development, licensing, and marketing relationships.

Michael Levin, Intellectual Property. Based in Palo Alto, Levin received his J.D. from UCLA Law School in 1994. He specializes in intellectual property litigation and counseling for technology companies, with a focus on patent litigation involving software, networking, telecommunications, and business methods.

John Mao, Corporate & Securities. Based in Palo Alto, Mao received his J.D. from Fordham Law School in 1996. With particular expertise in debt finance, his practice covers a broad range of general corporate and transactional matters, including the representation of venture-backed corporations, public corporations, venture capital funds, and venture lending funds.

Peter Munson, Intellectual Property. Based in San Diego, Munson received his J.D. from the Franklin Pierce Law Center in 1997. His practice encompasses all aspects of intellectual property law, including litigation, prosecution, licensing, and other transactions, as well as counseling clients on other related business matters.

Philip Oettinger, Corporate & Securities. Based in Palo Alto, Oettinger received his J.D. from the Washington College of Law at American University in 1994. His life sciences practice focuses primarily on medical device, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical companies, which he assists with corporate governance matters, IPOs, mergers and acquisitions, and private equity financings.

Nicholas Porritt, Litigation. Based in Reston/DC, Porritt received his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 1996. A specialist in securities litigation, he has defended public corporations and individuals in class action lawsuits, derivative actions, mergers and acquisitions litigation, and SEC enforcement actions.

Michael Russell, Corporate & Securities. Based in Palo Alto, Russell received his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 1993. He advises companies, investment banks, venture capital firms, and other clients on a broad range of corporate and securities matters and has extensive transactional experience.

Jason Sebring, Corporate & Securities. Based in San Francisco, Sebring received his J.D. from the University of Virginia Law School in 1998. He counsels companies on a wide variety of transaction-related securities law issues, representing them in mergers and acquisitions, asset sales, strategic alliances, public equity offerings, and other transactions.

David Stevens, Intellectual Property. Based in San Diego, Stevens received his J.D. from UCLA Law School in 1994. Working with both early-stage and public companies, his practice is focused on structuring and negotiating technology-related transactions, with an emphasis on assisting biopharmaceutical and life sciences companies.
