Fowler White Continues Expansion of Statewide Real Estate Group
Michael A. Walters has joined the law firm of Fowler White Boggs Banker in its Jacksonville office as a shareholder in the Real Estate Practice Group.

Mr. Walters’ multi-disciplinary practice involves banking, commercial loans, business organization and commercial real estate. He received his bachelor’s degree from Emory University magna cum laude and his law degree from Harvard Law School. Mr. Walters is admitted to practice in Florida and Georgia. He is a graduate of Leadership Florida and a former member of the Board of Trustees of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce. Prior to joining Fowler White Boggs Banker, Mr. Walters was a partner with Smith, Gambrell & Russell LLP. He has served as Senior Vice President for Legal Affairs of Barnett Banks, Inc., President of Barnett Bank of Jacksonville, Secretary of the Marine National Bank of Jacksonville, and a member of the Florida Bankers Association Board of Directors and Council.

Tracy Falkowitz to Chair the Board of Directors of Joshua House Foundation
Tracy Falkowitz, a shareholder with the law firm of Fowler White Boggs Banker, has been elected chair of the board of directors of Friends of Joshua House Foundation, Inc. Ms. Falkowitz has been a volunteer and board member with Joshua House for more than five years. Joshua House, operated by the Children's Home Society of Florida, provides shelter and services for abused, abandoned and neglected children.

Ms. Falkowitz practices in the firm’s Health Care Practice Group and concentrates her practice in the area of nursing home, medical malpractice and pharmacy malpractice defense litigation.

Nespresso opens its flagship boutique at 119, Avenue des Champs-Elysées in Paris: Gide Loyrette Nouel, legal counsel to the property owner.
Nespresso France has just opened its European flagship boutique in a 1,700 square metre space at 119, Avenue des Champs Elysées in Paris.

After reconstruction work on the site, the Nestle group subsidiary is to develop a new commercial concept in the premises formerly occupied by Air France.

In this project, already approved by the Business Planning Commission, Gide Loyrette Nouel (Hugues Moreau) is advising the property owner and Eversheds (Henri-Xavier Ortoli) is acting for Nespresso France.

John Rule re-joins GableGotwals
We are pleased to announce that John H. Rule has re-joined the firm as a Shareholder in our Tulsa office.

Mr. Rule has represented individuals and large corporations in the litigation area for over the past 25 years, in various areas including mergers and acquisitions, banking, insurance, securities, intellectual property, business torts, and media law. He has served in various positions of Firm management, including service on the Firm’s board of directors. Mr. Rule was a charter barrister in the Robert D. Hudson American Inn of Court, was a master in the Council Oak Inn of Court, and in 1991, served as a member of the Temporary Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals.

Mr. Rule received a Juris Doctor degree (with honors) from the University of Texas (Order of the Coif) and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Oklahoma City University.

In 2007, Mr. Rule received his Master of Divinity degree (with honors) from the Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, Virginia, and was ordained a deacon and priest in the Episcopal Diocese of Oklahoma. He served as a full-time ordained minister at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma from July 2005 through December 2006, and continues to serve there as Priest Associate.

Mr. Rule’s legal practice is in the areas of complex commercial litigation.

Wyche Law Firm Names Two Members and Adds Two New Associates
Wyche Burgess Freeman & Parham, P.A. law firm announced today that William M. Wilson III and Matthew T. Richardson have been invited to membership in the firm and John S. Harvey and David H. Koysza have joined the firm as associates.

Mr. Wilson joined the Wyche firm in 2000 and concentrates his practice in litigation. Prior to joining the Wyche firm, Mr. Wilson served as law clerk to the Honorable Henry M. Herlong, Jr., United States District Court for the District of South Carolina. He is a 1991 magna cum laude graduate of Davidson College and earned his law degree with high honors from the University of North Carolina in 1998. While in law school, he was an editor on the North Carolina Law Review and was elected to the Order of the Coif. Mr. Wilson is a member of the current Leadership Greenville Class XXXIII.

Mr. Richardson joined the Wyche firm in 2001 and concentrates his practice in litigation. Before joining the firm, he served as law clerk to the Honorable Kaye G. Hearn, South Carolina Court of Appeals, and to the Honorable Patrick Michael Duffy, United States District Court for the District of South Carolina. A graduate of Duke University with a degree in Economics, he earned his law degree in 1998 from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he was Editor in Chief of the South Carolina Law Review and a member of the Order of the Wig and Robe. Mr. Richardson serves on the Board of Directors of the South Carolina Appleseed Legal Justice Center and as a member of the Board of Governors of the South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association. He has served as President of the South Carolina Chapter of the Federal Bar Association.

Mr. Harvey joined the Wyche firm as a corporate paralegal in 1997. He received his B.A. degree summa cum laude from Drew University in 1990, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He earned his M.B.A. from Clemson University’s evening program in 2002 and graduated with honors in 2006 from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he earned membership in the Order of the Coif and the Order of the Wig and Robe. Mr. Harvey was a South Carolina Legal Scholar and received CALI Awards (American Jurisprudence) for Legal Drafting, Professional Responsibility and Torts. Mr. Harvey concentrates his practice in corporate law.

Mr. Koysza joined the Wyche firm in 2006 and concentrates his practice in litigation. Prior to joining the Wyche firm, he served as law clerk to the Honorable William W. Wilkins, Chief Judge, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, 2004-05, and he practiced appellate litigation with the U.S. Solicitor General in Washington, D.C., 2005-06. Mr. Koysza earned his undergraduate degree magna cum laude in 2001 from Furman University, and his law degree magna cum laude in 2004 from Duke University School of Law, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif, served as Executive Editor of the Duke Law Journal, and was the winner of the Hardt Cup Moot Court Competition. He also serves as a coach for Furman University's mock trial program.
