Orrick Tops Bond Counsel List Again in 2006
San Francisco public finance department chair Roger Davis is quoted in this Bond Buyer article about the ranks of the nation's top public finance law practices in 2006. Orrick, which is identified as bond counsel on 439 deals worth $31.4 billion, is ranked first. Orrick has earned this rank nine of the last ten years and was also top ranked in 2006 among competitive deal counsel, working on 138 transactions worth $4.1 billion.

"I think the reason we stayed steady throughout the year, even though some sectors were more busy than others, was that the people in our group are diversified," Davis said. "As one sector surges, they move with the market in that sector, and as one area of the country surges, then it picks up the resources from the rest of our system.
