Cadwalader’s Director of Records, Imaging and Conflicts Named 2007 Champion of Technology
ALM’s Law Technology News has announced that John J. Kruse, Cadwalader’s Director of Records, Imaging and Conflicts, has been selected as 2007’s “Champion of Technology” for his contributions to technological advancements at one of the nation’s oldest law firms. Among his many accomplishments are assisting early adopters of technology, working with the team that eventually created LegalKEY, creating a more userfriendly environment for integrating the firm’s information management environment for document, e-mail, and client relationship management.

“John has long been and continues to be a champion of technology, within his own department, across administrative teams, and among the lawyers and support staff he serves, “ said Robert O. Link, Jr., Chairman of Cadwalader. “Over the years, he has spent thousands of hours investigating technological enhancements, collaborating with application designers and system integrators, and meeting with Cadwalader personnel to understand their needs and help devise systems that reduce risk, enhance efficiency and improve operations.“

Mr. Kruse notes that “one of my primary responsibilities is to pursue tomorrow’s technology solutions for today’s information management challenges. I am thrilled to be recognized for my efforts in helping Cadwalader continue to adapt to the ever-changing information management culture.”

Mr. Kruse has been with Cadwalader for over 30 years. As the firm’s Director of Records, Imaging and Conflicts, he and his team have made tremendous advancements and contributions to the success of the firm. Well known in the records management and conflicts of interest space, Mr. Kruse’s interest in developing technology solutions dates back to 1988 when he assumed responsibility for the firm’s first conflicts database. Since that time, he and his team have become expert in making modifications to template driven design elements and crafting information management solutions in order to better suit the needs of individuals and their teams. His interaction with end users about the firm’s new technology occurs on a day-to-day basis and his efforts in this area have provided insight into a variety of business processes throughout the firm as well as a deeper understanding of how attorneys in different practice departments work. As a result, the firm has gained extraordinary new technology proficiencies such that Cadwalader is among the leaders in having a single solution that integrates electronic document and records management Mr. Kruse and the other winning individuals, firms and vendors will be honored at the LTN Technology Awards Dinner, at LegalTech® New York on January 29.
