Kurt Grossman is featured in Cincy Business Magazine
As a partner at Wood, Herron & Evans LLP, Grossman has concentrated his intellectual property (IP) practice in the electrical, biomedical device and software fields. The attorney prides himself on delivering a careful focus on the client s business needs with an understanding of the full impact of IP legal decisions on those business needs.

Admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1983 and the District of Columbia Bar two years previous, Grossman is also registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

After serving as technical advisor to Judge Helen W. Nies of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, Grossman joined the firm of Wood, Herron & Evans in 1983. Clayton G. Anderson has joined the Litigation Department of Steptoe & Johnson PLLC practicing in the firm’s Charleston office as an associate. Anderson will focus his practice in the area of insurance defense litigation. He received his legal education from Regent University in 1996 and a master’s degree in public policy and government in 1994. Anderson received his undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Central Florida in 1992.

Information Security Attorney Randy Sabett Joins Sonnenschein in Washington
Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP today announced that Randy V. Sabett has joined the law firm as a partner in its Information Security & Internet Enforcement Practice Group. Sabett, a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), will reside in Sonnenschein’s Washington, D.C. office, which also holds the firm’s in-house forensics lab.

“With his impressive depth of legal and technical knowledge in the information security field, Randy will greatly enhance our group’s capabilities,” said Marc Zwillinger, national chair of Sonnenschein’s Information Security & Internet Enforcement Practice Group. “With Randy here in Washington, and Ken Dreifach, the former head of the Internet Bureau of the New York Attorney General’s office, in New York, no other law firm can come close to matching the breadth of our Internet practice.”

Sabett’s practice focuses on information security compliance issues, data breach prevention, and counseling on liability for Internet technology. He works with clients on such issues as privacy, identity theft, and compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, and Gramm-Leach-Bliley laws, along with state information security laws. A registered U.S. patent attorney and former crypto engineer, Sabett also prepares and prosecutes patents in such technology areas as authentication, information security, and encryption. Sabett joins Sonnenschein from Cooley Godward Kronish LLP, where he was the founder of the Information Security & Cybercrime practice group.

“Information security law is one of Sonnenschein’s premier practice areas,” noted Sabett. “The strength of Sonnenschein’s Information Security & Internet Enforcement Group, combined with the firm’s growth plans, makes this a tremendously exciting time to be coming aboard.”

Sabett received a J.D. degree from the University of Baltimore and a B.S. degree in computer engineering from Syracuse University. He is an adjunct professor at George Washington University, where he teaches information policy. He is also a co-chair of the American Bar Association’s Information Security Committee of the Section of Science and Technology Law and an active member of the Security Committee within the Northern Virginia Technology Council. A frequent lecturer, Sabett has most recently spoken to the Institute for Applied Network Security, the SAFE-BioPharma Association and the ANSI Identity Theft Special Project.
