Mark Griffith Rejoins the Raleigh Office of Poyner & Spruill LLP
Poyner & Spruill LLP is pleased to announce W. Mark Griffith has rejoined the firm in its Raleigh office. He practices in the areas of Corporate Law, Securities, Real Estate, and Business Litigation. He primarily represents public and private entities in their mergers and acquisition transactions, and in their offers and sales of securities. Mark also advises public and private companies in their general corporate transactions, regulatory matters, and ownership disputes.

Mark received his B.A. in Economics and J.D., both with honors, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was a member of the Honors Program and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.

Mark is currently serving a three year term as a member of the Business Law Section Council of the North Carolina Bar Association and is the current chair of the Business Law Section’s Legislative Committee.

On a personal note, Mark is an avid golfer and past qualifier for the United States Amateur Golf Championship.

Congressman Charles F. Bass has joined the firm as a Senior Advisor
Devine Millimet announced today that former six-term Congressman Charles F. Bass has joined the firm as a Senior Advisor. Bass will be working with the firm to expand its capacity to deliver strategic advice and consulting services to the public and to the corporate, non-profit municipal and individual clients of the firm.

Bass, who represented New Hampshire's 2nd Congressional District from 1995 through 2006, served as an influential member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee and as Vice Chairman of the Telecommunications and Internet Subcommittee. Prior to his service in Congress, he held office in both the New Hampshire State Legislature and the State Senate. His years of service give him a thorough understanding of complex policy issues as well as a unique perspective on state and national politics. A recognized leader during his time in the House on renewable energy and environmental issues, Bass also developed expertise on telecommunications, health care and other issues of continuing importance to clients of Devine Millimet.

Elizabeth H. Blattner, has joined the Dayton office of Taft, Stettinius, and Hollister LLP as an attorney. Prior to joining Taft, Blattner was the Senior Corporate Counsel and Assistant Secretary at The Reynolds and Reynolds Company and formerly served as an attorney in the corporate department of Coolidge, Wall, Womsley and Lombard.

Blattner, a resident of Oakwood, received her undergraduate degree in English literature from The George Washington University and received her Juris Doctor from The George Washington University National Law Center. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association and the Dayton Bar Association.

Seyfarth Shaw Deepens International Labor & Employment Practice with Addition of Darren G. Gardner and Dominic Hodson as Partners
Seyfarth Shaw LLP, one of America’s leading full service law firms, announced that Darren G. Gardner and Dominic Hodson have joined the firm as partners. They will be resident in the firm's Los Angeles and San Francisco offices.

Gardner and Hodson specialize in assisting multi-national companies with their employment and labor issues outside of the United States. Gardner and Hodson join Seyfarth Shaw from Minter Ellison; a firm acknowledged globally for its high quality international employment practice that was established and led by Gardner from the firm's San Francisco office. Gardner and Hodson have deep experience in international employment law on behalf of large multinational clients, with particular expertise with large multi-jurisdictional employment law projects. Loeb & Loeb LLP Named Top IPO Law Firm
According to IPO Vital Signs, an IPO information database, Loeb & Loeb LLP ranked #13 in the U.S. for IPO law firms representing the issuer in IPOs that closed in 2006. Securities Practice Group Chair, partner Mitch Nussbaum, was ranked # 1 IPO lawyer in the U.S. for the number of IPOs closed among lawyers representing issuers in 2006. The rankings were published as part of IPO Vital Signs league tables in the February 20, 2007 issue of their online publication, The IPO Week in Review.

In addition, Loeb & Loeb was tied for first place for the number of issuer clients they represented who completed SPAC offerings in 2006 (IPO Vital Signs). Last year the team completed SPAC deals ranging from $27 million to $225 million for clients in a range of industries in the U.S., Europe, China and India. About Mitch Nussbaum
In a few short years, Loeb & Loeb partner Mitch Nussbaum has grown the firm’s international securities practice enough to warrant the hiring of several new partners and associates to service a growing client base. In August 2006 the partnership asked Nussbaum to chair Loeb & Loeb’s Securities Practice Group.

Nussbaum introduced the firm to its first Asian clients. He has represented over thirty-five Asian companies including the first Chinese, Taiwanese and Thai companies to list on the American Stock Exchange. In 2004 he forged an alliance for Loeb & Loeb with a Chinese law firm in Shanghai and Beijing that he has been working with for several years. Nussbaum is now applying his experience in taking internationally-based corporations public to new clients in the United Kingdom, India, Australia, Israel and Greece.
