Cadwalader Attorneys Honored by Emerald Publishing
Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP was selected as a Highly Commended Winner in the Outstanding Papers category at the 2007 Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence. The article, “The New Supervisory Rules Regime: A Practical Look at Areas of Exposure From Broker-Dealers and Senior Personnel," authored by Bruce Hiler, a partner in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, and associates Tom Kuczajda and Aseel Rabie, appeared in Emerald’s Journal of Investment Compliance.

The article addressed new NASD and New York Stock Exchange rules that had the effect of requiring upper management to become more involved in a broker-dealer’s processes for maintaining adequate supervisory and compliance systems, as well as potential new exposure for management personnel.

The journal’s editorial team chose to nominate the article based on the criteria of whether a paper contributed something new to the body of knowledge, was well-written and well-structured, featured rigorous argument or analysis, furthered research in the field, and demonstrated a cutting-edge understanding of the topic.
