Waldron To Join Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw Government Contracts Group
Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw LLP is pleased to announce that Roger D. Waldron, 47, will be joining its Government Contracts Practice Group based in the firm's Washington Office. Mr. Waldron currently serves as the Acting Senior Procurement Executive at the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA). In that capacity, he has led the development, issuance and oversight of acquisition policies and procedures governing GSA's $60 billion dollar procurement operations. In this role, he also has managed the civilian development of governmentwide acquisition policy for all federal agencies through the Federal Acquisition Regulation. Mr. Waldron joins the firm as Counsel.

Previously, Mr. Waldron has played a leading role in the management of GSA's governmentwide contracting programs. He has been a senior manager for the Federal Supply Service (FSS) where he was responsible for the acquisition management and oversight of FSS's $37 billion contracting programs, including the Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) program. Mr. Waldron has been responsible for the policies and procedures governing FSS's interagency contract vehicles, including the MAS program and the Information Technology Governmentwide Acquisition Contracts (GWACs). These programs have been the core of GSA's acquisition program and they are used across the government to acquire commercial items and services.

Mr. Waldron was a member of Acquisition Advisory Panel, appointed by the Executive Office of the President.

Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw Adds New Financial Services Partner
Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Jerome Roche to its Financial Services Regulatory practice. Mr. Roche joins the firm's Washington, D.C. office as a partner from TIAA-CREF where he served as Chief Legal Officer of Teachers Personal Investing Services, Inc.

"We're very pleased to have Jerome as the newest member of our growing team," said Charles Horn, leader of the firm's Financial Services Regulatory practice. "His expansive knowledge of the SEC and NASD, and his hands-on experience with broker-dealer matters, is an important addition to our financial services practice and will further enable us to provide our clients with a full-range of top quality legal services in all aspects of financial services regulation."

At TIAA-CREF, Mr. Roche served as the Chief Legal Officer of one of the organization's two broker-dealers and counseled other regulated entities within the company. Prior to his work at TIAA-CREF, Mr. Roche was counsel at the law firm WilmerHale and before that was a member of the staff of the SEC's Division of Market Regulation where he drafted exemptive, interpretive and no-action positions concerning broker-dealer status/registration issues and the anti-fraud/anti-manipulation provisions of the federal securities laws.

The addition of Mr. Roche comes in the wake of a number of new partners joining Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw's Financial Services Regulatory practice. In January 2006, the firm added six partners and several other lawyers and professionals from Pillsbury Winthrop. Previously, in June 2005 the firm added nine leading securities enforcement and investment management partners from Crowell & Moring in the Washington, D.C. office.

"Jerome's experience and knowledge will further strengthen and diversify the firm's already broad-based financial services practice," said Peter Scher, the newly elected Partner-in-Charge of the Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw's Washington, D.C. office. Experienced Attorney Ben West Joins Luce Forward's Growing Intellectual Property Practice
Attorney Ben West has joined Luce Forward's Business / Complex Litigation Practice Group as an associate in the firm’s downtown San Diego office.

West specializes in intellectual property matters including trademark litigation, domain name litigation, trade secret litigation, Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) proceedings, federal procedure, Civil RICO, antitrust litigation, regulatory matters and commercial litigation, and is experienced in industries including gaming, publishing, and consumer products.

“As our intellectual property practice continues to grow, we are proud to welcome Ben to the firm,” said Robert J. Bell, Luce Forward’s Managing Partner. “Ben is a talented attorney, and I am confident that he will contribute to the strength of our intellectual property practice and the success of our clients.”

West, who recently relocated to San Diego, was previously an associate with Santoro, Driggs, Walch, Kearney, Johnson & Thompson in Las Vegas, Nevada. While in Las Vegas, West also served as the Chair of the Las Vegas Chapter of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society.

West earned a Juris Doctor degree from Brigham Young University Law School, and also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Politics from Brigham Young University. West is a member of the American Bar Association and an associate of The Howard D. McKibben American Inn of Court.

WYATT R. HASKELL, FOUNDING MEMBER OF HASKELL SLAUGHTER, NAMED OUTSTANDING INDIAN SPRINGS ALUMNUS
Wyatt R. Haskell, a founding member of Haskell Slaughter Young & Rediker, LLC, has been named as the recipient of the 2007 "Outstanding Alumnus" award presented by the Alumni Council of Indian Springs School. The award is given annual by the Alumni Council to an alumnus of Indian Springs School who has made an outstanding contribution to his or her field or to his or her community. Mr. Haskell's recognition arises from both his professional achievements and his long record of community service. The Alumni Council will present the award to Mr. Haskell at a reception to be held at Ted's Garage on Birmingham's Southside, at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, April 20.

Former Pfizer Trademark Counsel Eric McCormick Joins Duane Morris in New York
Duane Morris LLP is pleased to welcome Eric W. McCormick, a former in-house trademark counsel for international pharmaceutical company Pfizer Inc., as special counsel in the firm's New York office. Eric joins the firm in its Intellectual Property Practice Group.

A trademark attorney with a wealth of experience as both in-house and outside counsel, Eric practices in the areas of trademark and copyright licensing, usage and clearance, as well as regulation and compliance. He also has significant experience in the areas of advertising and promotions law. As corporate counsel for trademarks at Pfizer, Eric handled matters involving domestic and international trademark searching, clearance, maintenance and enforcement across the broad range of the company's intellectual property portfolio. Prior to his time at Pfizer, he served in a number of roles at Unilever United States Inc., most recently as assistant general counsel for commercial law and trademarks. In that post, he negotiated and drafted complex commercial agreements involving licensing, agency, coexistence, distribution, joint promotion, product placement, and trademark purchase and sale, among others. In addition, he provided oversight for the company's trademark and copyright litigation matters.

He has also served clients at several law firms in New York, where he worked on a wide range of trademark and litigation matters.

Eric earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he was the associate editor for the University of Pennsylvania Law Review and a member of the Order of the Coif. He received a B.A., magna cum laude, in 1989 from the University of Pennsylvania.

Angela Logan Edwards is Named in Who’s Who Black Louisville
Woodward, Hobson & Fulton, L.L.P. announces today that Angela Logan Edwards, a partner in their Louisville office, has been named to Who’s Who in Black Louisville. This is the inaugural event for Louisville and is sponsored by the nationwide publication whose purpose is to honor achievers who work tireless hours in government, business and industry, education, arts and entertainment and the community in general. The goal of Who’s Who Publishing is to recognize people who have carved out new roads and found ways to bring equity to the local black community.

Angie has been with Woodward, Hobson & Fulton, L.L.P. since 1996 and practices in the areas of commercial and ERISA litigation. She counsels clients with business disputes, and represents employee benefit plans, claims administrators, and employers with benefits issues. She is a member of the Louisville Black Lawyers Association and serves on the diversity and public service committees of the Louisville Bar Association. Additionally, she serves on the firm’s personnel committee and Diversity Council. She began her career as a law clerk for the Honorable Jennifer B. Coffman, United States District Court judge for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky.

Stanley M. Saunier Has Joined Woodward, Hobson & Fulton, L.L.P.
Woodward, Hobson & Fulton, L.L.P. announced that Stanley M. Saunier, Jr. has joined the firm in the Lexington office Of Counsel. Mr. Saunier practices in the areas of business and labor law as well as wills, trusts and estates.

He graduated from the University of Kentucky college of Law in 1947. He was a Lexington City Commissioner and co-founded the Lexington law firm of Gess, Mattingly, Saunier & Atchison which he departed in 1989. He is a retired Lt. Colonel of the United States Army Reserve.

Mr. Saunier is a member of the Labor Law Section of the American, Kentucky and Fayette County Bar Associations and was President of the Fayette County Bar in 1959. He is a contributing editor to the ABA-BNA publication “The Developing Labor Law.” He was a member and was twice president of the Board of the Mental Hygiene & Child Guidance Clinic of United Way, a former member of the Downtown Lexington Optimist Club, the Lexington Country Club and the Lexington Club, of which he was a director and officer.

He represented John R. Gaines in the syndication of Demon Hanover, the first Standardbred stallion to be owned by more than three or four breeders. He represented the developers and builders of Thoroughbred Acres, Briarwood and Plantation subdivisions in Louisville, Kentucky and St. Martin’s Village, Gainesway and Southeastern Hills subdivisions in Lexington.

Mr. Saunier participated in the successful representation of the Bank of New York, Mid-South Toyota and Columbia Broadcasting System in anti trust cases. He successfully represented Dura Corporation (auto part manufacturer), the Kroger Company and the Okenite Company (wire cable manufacturer) in labor disputes and successfully represented Ready-Mix Concrete companies, Bluegrass Coca-cola Bottling Company and WLEX-TV in union organization attempts. He has made presentations at labor law seminars sponsored by the Kentucky Bar Association and the University of Kentucky College of Law in Louisville, Frankfort and Lexington.
